Well, if those people do not return the favour, then you have every right to rage and stab them as needed.
Dugan2009-10-15 17:49:56
I will concur that I am not overly friendly with others ... I do generally prefer to do things and figure things out by myself ... but it is still frustrating when things go unanswered. I can see what you mean in some regards ... but also that is a two way street and I don't really recall where people reached out to me ... except when they remember my trade skill and they want my shears.

Players are not game mechanics. People enjoying themselves is natural and expected.

I know you've been self employed. Does work drop on your lap? No. Have you died from starvation yet? No. Use your life skills here.

Agree with Romero. New people are constantly getting into 'cliques'. It's less of a clique when 90% of your organization is involved in said clique... and with more joining every day. Yes, it can be work to try and do enough stuff that people notice you and connect with you. This is why you play a MUD.

That is the problem. When 90% of the org is deemed good enough to join a clique, and you are one of the remaining 10% that doesn't feel good.

You know, I kinda object to the clique stuff...and then I try something like aetherhunting, or basic raid defence, or even just a darn bash. And, bear in mind, I've written help scrolls specifically to assist people in these things - and they can't even manage to make basic triggers or ascertain wtf is going on in a situation. This kind of stuff happens enough and people start to lose patience and only want to bother with people who quickly understand what they are saying/need...and there you go, the start of cliques.

I don't know the specific incident you're speaking of Dugan, but rest assured.

Regardless of who you are or where you come from, everyone is equal in their difficulty to get me to want to forge crap for them.

I will make a smart Serenguard just for you, Akui comfort.gif

Heh, I still remember getting a pair of Shofa from Akui. One of them was DAMN nice. 208 speed, or something. It was almost out-stripping my leg for rebalance.

This is just conjecture, but I think Dugan's referring to an instance of looking for someone to enchant a set of robes for him.

I personally find I can never get anything enchanted/amalgamated unless I know specific tradespeople to bother when I see them online. Lots of people just don't listen to market, or don't want to bother with a person they don't know well in favour of bashing/socializing/etc. Get names, prod people on a personal basis, and you'll be more likely to get results.

Unless that's what you already were doing. unsure.gif

On that note, Enchanter for hire and looking for aetherbash crew members.

But honestly Dugan, in my recent time with Lusternia I have learned to ignore the cliques and do what is necessary for that org to do better. Like being in Celest, Ruiku was for whichever reason badly looked, he did what he needed, raids/defense/trade skills/helping out and the people that -really- count(the bulk of citizens that make up an org and not the clique) will appreciate you so much more.

You can also try to focus your efforts. If you try to be the friend of everybody, you'll fall flat on your face. Try concentrating on just a specific group, like a guild or cartel. Of course, the results of this can be mixed-- Ev may be loved and respected in the Serenguard, but he's almost universally despised everywhere else, even in the Serenwilde. It's a give and take situation.

I thought shofa were like nekai..
Esano2009-10-17 02:36:00
They are, he must be confused. 110 is max speed on shofa/nekai, 220 is max speed on tahto/chain.
Aerotan2009-10-17 04:53:27
Er...they are. It was two points from max. I'm confused.
Esano2009-10-17 05:44:42
You said 208 instead of 108, then.

activating my 250% xp bonus to do some influencing while I'm sick and home from work, to find that the guards are being monopolized. Oh well sad.gif I'll try again later

This thread is not lack of rants, and the topic was someone's feelings about cliques in Lusternia.

Please do not use it as the former, as I will lock it.
