...What, then that'd be pointless, I can go in, start the cubixing process, hit, get the quick kill, then get passively summoned out.
I said move, not attack/kill stuff.

I'd say the idea should be to make it harder to leave, but not impossible. I think the best idea is a variant of what Tervic said.
In general, it takes 20 second to cubix out of off-prime enemy territory while nexus distortion (not shrine due to Astral and Faethorn) increase the duration before the cubix triggers, during which you can't do anything that would break a teleport. I say 20 seconds because this will allow defenders to chase down the invader and get him before he cubix out, while still giving the invader a chance to actually get out. With 1 minute teleport time, it'll be too difficult to flee, so I suggest the time be between 20 seconds and one minute.

20 seconds is too short to actually have a real impact on kick and run raids.
Nexus distort should work and make a 60s timer, no move / action / whatever. If you need to get out *now,* plan ahead. Make rifts, etc. Use Planarbond! Shrine distort should remain not working on it (seriously, the cost for shrine distort is extremely minimal, heh. Even less work to get it back than the power cost from nexus distort and it can be done anywhere).

20 seconds is more than enough time for someone to greatpent, kill, and get out. Far too short.
Dynami2009-10-26 22:08:05
What if there was a 20 second timer, but if you attacked/greatpented/divinefired/teleported/used serpent, you add an extra minute to that timer?

That would still remove the whole point since it you're likely not going to be able to kill them in that 1:20 and they could move around.

0s timer if no Nexus Distort up, 60s if they spend a large amount of power to trap you (from which you can still get away using rifts), or if they don't actually come after you (such as if you have a group with a mage and they're slowly breaking their way to you). Cubix just wouldn't be the be-all end-all for raiding any more, which is fine IMO. 60s is a perfectly valid timer.

Increase the time added to 1:40 and make it stack?

Or you know, ascending/cubixing automatically took down fire, serpent, greatpent, or whatever else. I think some of you are making this needlessly complex.
20 seconds is more than enough to kick and run btw. A minute is fine.
The needing power, etc. requirement is intriguing as well, but that will need more balancing too.

I agree that the more complicated your ideas are, the less likely it will be implemented. Keep it simple! The less ifs, ands and buts, the better.
I rather like the idea of a 20 second delay where you can't do anything in enemy territory and then add a minute if a distortion effect is in place.

And the initiation of the effect drops d-fire, serpent, greatpent, etc.

meh, i don't really see myself using this everytime urazial raids earth or celina takes up camp on nil.
using 500 power to kill a single person is just so not worth it
is there going to be any kind of trade off for people who bought the very expensive cubix?

Yes. Easy access to distant planes.
Gregori2009-10-26 23:22:40
^^
Cubixes were not made so you could easily raid. They were made so you could easily get to other planes. Raiding is a side effect of owning a cubix, not the reason for its creation. You pay 2000 credits to get around faster than everyone else.

When paying ~$500, or investing a significant amount of time to earn that in game, for an imaginary e-toy, a lot of things are taken into consideration before doing such a foolish thing.
Changing even the smallest aspects of it should be carefully thought out.
Again, I don't see this change ever having any meaningful effect on me but I'm sure some people are going to be upset about this and we could head off a fair amount of agnst by trying to be proactive in that regard.

Why don't you let the people with the cubixes speak for themselves? So far, I haven't seen anybody argue against this change aside from yourself.
