Took me 135 seconds to say hi to a friend on AIM who normally responds right away, get a response, open my client, load my system, def up enough to not die while standing with an angry Avatar, move five rooms out of Glomdoring's tunnels, cubix into Faethorn, and run to Glumki. I consider that an absolute best case scenario, and all that does is get me to the Avatar, alone. If it takes you more than 135 seconds between entering enemy territory and downing the mob, you were going to die anyways.

EDIT: And you didn't answer why you don't want defenders. People are going to start making horrible assumptions about you and your motives!

What the hell are you smoking and can I have some? No effects were set until well after you were not only in, but Selene was already being attacked. 20 people entering Ethereal Serenwilde is going to be noticed, especially when most of them have no gems and we oh I don't know.. watch for that going on.

Though I suspect the glom hypocrisy will jump up and defend it as some sort of balanced mechanic. I wonder, if longnight was going to Serenwilde this month, as well, if Glom envoys would be suddenly quick to realise it needs a change too.

How many balances can you stand against an angry Avatar? Not 30. I've never seen one succeed that took more than a dozen or so. Even if you survive for a dozen rounds, lots of people won't, and those hits will start to hurt. I'd be happy to go parse a couple logs for you if you'd like, though. I could be wrong.

What? Many of us actually agree that Longnight is overpowered, however it is justified by its obscene requirement of 105 power, plus 13 member Coven. Oh, and just so you know. Timestamps don't lie, it was two seconds when we walked into the Ethereal Serenwilde archway that Liveforest was immediately raised, I also perceived and there was no meld to indicate that we entered. Thus, it can be safely stated that information was leaked over a non-IC medium. You can be defensive all you want about it, facts are facts.

It would be justifiable if it was 13 Night users. Trying to call it justifiable with a 13 member coven is a joke not even worth laughing at. Since any night childe body counts and if you are smob raiding you definitely have 13. How about you pull the other one, it has bells on it.

Also who cares if there was a meld or not? Do you know how often fern is on ethereal? She is a guard influencer she goes there like clockwork as do many others. There is this great way of seeing who is there.. it's called.. WHO. Try it sometime.

Depends on the supermob, really. A reasonably sized (both in numbers and levels) group can tank Luna or Nifilhema forever. Albion or Raziela? Not so much.

I know I've been apart of extended fights with the smaller supermobs with a group of demis and had zero concern about my health ever dipping below around 5000 or so.

I can probably jump on to my client and get my basic insomnia/kafe/blah blah defs and get to ethereal in eh...45 seconds if I needed to. Not optimal, obviously, but I could spam someone with nature curse.

edit: I think the argument against people pre prepping for raids through OOC knowledge is silly. We all know it happens. MAYBE it didn't happen this time. Who cares, it's certainly happened before.

Even if there was no meld, there can be spectacles. Or watching WHO - do you remember the attempted hai'Gloh that got neutered on Nil? That wasn't OOC mediums, that was watching who and knowing times.

No. It's justifiable period. When you have to spend 100 power on shadows, spend another 10p on Longnight, have 13 Coven Members, plus it prohibits us from using power moves too. However, if you want to pull the other argument out, I can also state that my timestamps say we were in Faethorn for a total of 4.5 seconds before we entered Ethereal Serenwilde. I have an extremely hard time believing that Fern spams WHO on a regular basis when she is on Ethereal Serenwilde, or SCENT for that matter. I doubt this because I have run around Ethereal Serenwilde with her there (undoubtedly influencing guards) in the past and she's done little to detect or report me until much later. I still maintain that information was breached through non-IC channels. The evidence certainly points in that direction in any event.

Honestly, regardless of who Liveforested or not, I just find it outrageously fitting given the circumstances. Celina is right in stating that whether it happened or not this time, it still happens. It's undisputable that AIMSummon reared its head.

Apparently not, since you seem to think my report has anything to do with it "maybe" getting moved. Maybe it will, maybe it won't, I don't know. It's an issue, I've supported its fixing in the past, and when I was asked about a week ago what my next report was going to be this was one of the two I listed.

45 seconds was about right for deffing (I included things like yellow, barkskin, and snake) and running to Glumki. I was poised to fly onto MUSH the second I got that reply, which wasn't very realistic. Really, most of the time, if you IM someone, they're doing something, not waiting for an excuse to go gank some Gloms. If I were coding when I got an IM like that, my response would've been something like, yeah, sure, I'll be there in about five minutes.

The demi thing probably does make a difference, and I wasn't really considering that. I don't have any character above level 85.

Annnnnyways, it's not the fact that defenders showed up that bothers you, right? Defenders are supposed to show up to raids. All of them (well, not Mag, but again, not involved in that!)

I didn't do -anything-! I didn't notice there was anybody on Ethereal untill I saw the longnight thingymajigger, and then I tried to meld, but I didn't know that was longnight, and I couldn't do anything anyways because our new Champion left his meld up (again)

Yes, I am constantly on Ethereal, normally it is because it's only me and Lehki around, and I'm not the good mobile fighter, so I generally just sit at Mother and keep resetting demesne effects.

I don't object to defenders showing up. I don't object to Liveforest going up, nor shrine effects. What I do object to is the pre-emptive raising of effects, or anticipating the raid through OOC means. I also dislike the OOC means used to gather defenders who arent even logged in, but suddenly appear en masse once a raid happens.

No, I don't care about defenders. It's either an opportunity to kill some people or I die and a tiny, tiny piece of my essence mountain is chipped away. Or a little of both.

I just think using AIM to summon IG fighters is dumb. If anyone did that to me, I'd flip them the e-bird. When I'm logged off, I'm freaking logged off.

Well, it wasn't me. I'm not even in any OOC clans. The only person I really talk to on a consistantly regular basis on IM is Mihewi, and we all know what a super griefer she is.

All I know is I went up to Ethereal, because I saw that my other guildmate was up there, scented, smelled a newbie Glom, and yelled for people to shoo. Next thing I know, there's a million people running around Etherseren. When I tried melding and couldn't, I went to Prime to check on trees and gather pixies.
