Should we curb raiding?

I confess I've been tempted to create a Celestian alt lately.

Come help the underdogs biggrin.gif

Seriously. Halp.

I am sure me and Lawliet would be ecstatic to have another combat melder! dribble.gif

Incidentally, there no super orgs anymore, just who happens to have more people logged in at the time.

When was the last time Glomdoring was successfully raided? As in, people died and Magnagorans ran rampant around Ethereal Glom?

Which lately is Glom like, 70-80% of the time.

Depends on how many people, and what you mean by rampant.

No idea, check around 3 am EST. Bazinga.

And psh, Magnasereguch has about as much people on lately as well.

But I digress.

How about 2 days ago when essentially every one of our guards were slain? tongue.gif

Glom takes its licks like any other org. Just about all our guards were killed this past week, and a good showing by Mag/Gaudi in Viravain's temple.
Lorina2010-03-05 02:51:50
As I see it, the biggest are Glom(Celest and Hallifax) and Mag(Seren and Gaudi). That seems to be how it is split with random conflicts emerging between the smaller orgs. But def, it is Mag and Glom that is the largest in a consistent time. Just seems that sometimes is kicking people out of the "good aligned" orgs. Like the allure of the dark side! Damn cookies.
Unknown2010-03-05 02:53:30
And instead of nerfing cookies, they nerfed the Cookie Monster.

Poor fellow.
Lorina2010-03-05 02:56:52
Omg I know! Wtf kind of monster eats veggies..

Essentially? They missed some? I had to leave early, but I thought they would finish the job ....

And yes, there are times when Magnagora(+Gaudiguch+Serenwilde) can easily overpower Glomdoring. There are also times Glomdoring can easily overpower Magnagora. Tends to be based on time zones.

You know, it might be interesting if some of the combatants who are bored with no conflict because they are on the winning side did something like become mercenaries. I would have no idea how it would be done, but if your character lives to fight, being a merc seems like an awesome way to do it. Arrange a contract to "join" an org for a set amount of time to fight for them, then when the contract is up, leave and go rogue and get another contract. Might be fun.
Unknown2010-03-05 04:08:14
Maybe in a world without friends.
Esano2010-03-05 04:08:57
I expect most orgs won't care if you're a mercenary: if you do something against them, you will be enemied and required to pay a fine. These fines can get quite exorbitant.
Everiine2010-03-05 04:37:06
I expect raiding might be more fun for everyone if things weren't set up so that 2 or 3 people could kill 8-10 in seconds. Raising the power of smobs doesn't address that kind of difference.

You can't make much of a career out of killing Azoth, so yeah.

Not... really. Just watching deathsight shows a large number of glomdoring combatants dogpiling a rather small number of defenders. Several times a day. Politics tells a different tale as well.

The same can be said of Magdiguch hitting Celest, it just happens to occur with less frequency.
