'Evil' playthrough is so not going well. I am losing party members left and right lol.
You should see the game as hero and anti-hero. Put it this way, this game is not really for playing the "evil" side, as you are fighting against the great evil of the Darkspawn. At best you can be seen as an anti-hero. You might be selfish or cynical or manipulative, but playing a die-hard mustachioed rat bastard is not a good idea, as you need to at least treat some of your companions well. If you treat everyone like crap, you'll get crappy relationships. There's no option like in NWN2 where you can choose to join the bad guys at the very end, for instance.

AMD Processor memory leaks evoke fits of great rage within me.
Also, my computer can only ever run detailed games like this at anywhere from 3 to 12 frames per second. I see people on gaming boards going 'Well, I get 30fps, which isn't all that great but survivable.' Wish I could do that.

I dunno, I was able to do the mustache twisting but mostly because Witchy wants you to be a bastard to everyone, the assassin only cares about elves and he was too hot for me to care when I treated them like garbage, and Shale didn't seem to give a crap. When Shale wasn't in I used dog which is auto 100% as well.

Well there's more to it than keeping them from leaving you. If they really like you they get buffs to their stats and damage and stuff.

The ones I listed had their buffs even though I was mustache twisting, plus the end event you get for being evil and boffing Witchy.

I wish there was something to do about the people you think have annoying voices

Omg, I know right?
The only consolation is that I play as a Mage...if I couldn't drop Winter's Grasp on things to take a breather I'd never make it.
Ending up rerolling my mage, though, because I was doing so terrible. Kept dropping talents in herbalism (that's what Witchy is for!), had mostly Creation spells, maxed the Glyph and Wisp/Grease/Spellbloom/Swarm lines. Pumping out little to no damage, mostly crowd control. While discovering the Paralysis Explosion spell combo was fun (Glyph of Paralysis touches a Glyph of Repulsion, latter being an amazing spell) I was helpless for the most part.

Awesome game.. but for some reason I just can't stop playing it after beating it three times already. Basicly seen almost everything.. though I have little to no interest in actually being a dwarf? But I'll probably get there on my 5th go around.
Blood mage was a real disappointment by the way, kinda made me cry alittle.

As was Reaver. The values of the abilities don't seem to scale with difficulty so having reaver abilities active on nightmare was just suicide.

My girlfriend also loathed this part. I must be the only person in the world who enjoyed it. I thought using all the different transformations in battle was really fun, not to mention all the permanent stat boosts.
The party I'm taking through my first run is Me (Rogue Duel Wielding Assassin/Duelist Dalish Elf), Alistair (sword/shield templar/champion tank), Wynne (healer/cone of colder), and Leliana (archer/bard/ranger/tent mate).

I liked all the shapeshifting and stat points and stuff, it just got a little annoying. Oddly enough, I enjoyed it more my second play through, even though I was a dwarf wondering how I got into the fade :/.
The form you use to destroy massive doors, which I am too lazy to name in spoiler tags, is just plain awesome.
I'm looking forward to seeing this second ending, but I have been interrupted by Assassin's Creed II, which is very cool too. Way better than the first.

I think I would've liked it more if I hadn't played it on hard my first time through. I can't count how many times I got hit by a spell that paralysed/froze/somehow immobilized me and was pretty much immediately downed after that.
I have also been slightly sidelined by AC2. Though the achievements in that game baffle me. 20 points right in the beginning for doing essentially nothing, but nada for finishing all 6 assassin's tombs? Buh?
Still, I am obsessed in there with getting double air assassinations.

I played a mage and did the magi circle first. So far everything else has been boring compared to that one.

Really? Have you not done dwarf yet? Cause that's easily the craziest one.

Commoner or Noble? I'm thinking about doing a Dwarf 2-handed warrior.

I feel like I need to replay the dwarf one and choose different options
Desitrus2009-11-23 05:13:37
I guess I mean the dwarf ally story-line, not the starter one. Cause that shtick was cuhrazy.
Maylea2009-11-23 07:39:28
...must resist urge to build creepy dwarven area with player-eating broodmothers and nursery rhymes...
Nykolai2009-11-23 20:23:02
That was completely the best part of the game! Broodmothers and rhymes ^^
