Lastly, I seem to remember reading something that said that we don't win unless someone else someone else gets thier win condition first... or am I remembering things wrong? Or was that just last game cause I can't find that rule now.
That was my last game and that was my survivor.

Actually, something about the numbers aren't making sense to me.
So the game started with 3 non vanilla. 2 of those were xavius and Sadhyra. 1 was somebody else.
but the next day we also had 3, and then the next day to but now we have 4 with two jokers dead?

Bali was lynched after he was converted but before he was no longer vanilla. I think there were two other roles like that.
Daganev2009-12-01 19:24:14
Ok, this was the line I was remembering.
But I guess that isn't applicable anymore.
So, I'm taking this to mean that Ro Sham Bo don't have to "lose" before we are free of threats and can win. Which means, there are only a limited number of roles that can be keeping the game going. After looking through the list of roles, I think this is the correct list.
1. Shandor Cultist
2. Young Voter
3. Insane Numerologist
4/5/6. Azetlor/SpiderWitch/Slor
7. Ivo Shandor
Sorry for the long delay on the post, got pulled into a meeting mid/post.

About the numbers, are you accounting for the delayed-vanilla sheets we should have had? (not sure if that's actually accurate, and going to sleep now)

No I wasn't. I forgot about those.
Llandros2009-12-01 23:14:13
I think the 4 are
the ghostbuster who is mia or has really bad aim.
Shandor
a Shandor Cultist
and then one more
After tonight we should have a better idea of who those 4 are based on what happens.
So lurker or somone acting odd? We've had good luck with both tactics.

Barring the fact that rika won't really respond for x amount of hours, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and focus on Zenon.
Afterall, he admited to not really paying attention to the conversations during the day.
vote zenon
aka, I'm voting for the "acting odd" tactic, and Rika has been voting for Zenon for some reason the past couple days.
Zenon2009-12-01 23:33:39
Not really paying attention to the conversations? I like to get passing grades in school, thanks.
I know nothing about anyone other than my own role, which rhymes with absorb, and the numerologist can't kill me for saying that, if there is one.
Has anyone been following any of the non-vanilla post conditions? We might be able to get a lead off of that, and it'd be better than what we have now, which is no better than a random vote.

Oh wow. I am really not looking. And we might as well pressure Sadhyra, since we have to pressure someone in order to get this going.
This has nothing to do with getting passing grades in school. And this is what I was referring to, about not paying attention.
If what you are saying about being an orb is true, then I have exactly the same knowledge that you have about what is going on. You can't rely on power roles when you play mafia.

And unless the mod is incredibly lazy and I'm some kind of converted role without knowing it, I'm a vanilla townie. At best, the only difference between what we know is that I know I'm a vanilla townie and you know you're whatever role you happen to be. It's probably different, because I'm probably forgetting something important from some pages ago.
And is Rika voting for me really justification to vote for me? If I'm remembering correctly, Rika voted for me because I voted for Tervic with little reason, but after all, there were others voting for Tervic with no more justification - I just voted because he was being annoying. And you voting for me on the basis that Rika was seems a little weird. How is Rika voting for me any better reason than that for my vote for Tervic?
Fern2009-12-02 05:00:30
In mafia, if you are going to vote for somebody, it is best to give the most detailed reasons on why you are voting as possible.
Personally, I've got my eye on Daganev.

Well, I must say we have been one of the luckiest towns I've seen. We somehow got a second Joker because the first Joker (having no knowledge of who the other is) defended the second one.
Cult seems to be the only explanation for the vanilla numbers, but that makes things annoying because they can really be anyone. On top of this, we don't really have many power roles (if at all) that can help us track down who Shandor is.

Looks like we have to kill everybody
Aerotan2009-12-02 06:54:49
Oddly, I'm not sure lurker is a good idea this time. If the numbers are adding up right, then last night two hands/eyes/sheets got converted (or one sheet and one cultist) And that should be the last of the non-cult conversions, but since we had two conversions last night, and not one, we've had the jokers converting every time they could, and Shandor every time he could, which should just be last night.
We've had three non-vanillas from day one. One was Ghostbuster, one has yet to be determined, and one was Xavius.
Night zero, everyone is confused, no actions
Day one, we lynched Tervic.
Night one, Xavius converts Bali, GB blasts Tekora (orb), no auto conversions.
Day two, we still have 3 non vanilla. We lynch Bali (sheet)
Night two, Xavius converts Sadhyra, GB does nothing, no auto conversions.
Day three, we lynch Xavius (Gozer the Gozerian, the Traveler, the Destructor)
Night three, there are no standard conversions, GB misfires or something, and Sadhyra becomes Vigo and gets a free conversion that night (or something)
Day four, we STILL have three non-vanilla, with Sadyra taking Xavius' place. We summarily execute her.
Night four, Sheet becomes Shandor, who cults an orb
Day five, four non vanilla.
I don't much like this explaination, since it relies heavily on Xavius not taking an action on Night 0 when he should have, and on the GB sleeping with a mystery role we haven't seen yet.

And to go back to my original point, a lurker may not be the best idea since our scum has been fairly active.
Shiri2009-12-02 07:10:31
Firstly, I think you're making some false assumptions. Xavius doesn't have to have targetted no one night zero. Sheets aside, it might be that he had to select two people to convert night one...or similar.
Secondly, I don't think we can make any conclusions about ghostbusters at this point.
Thirdly, your point about lurkers is COMPLETELY wrong. The point is to send in your night action every night while avoiding detection in the thread. So the scum being active (how do you know that anyway) is irrelevant to the posting patterns.
I'm willing to go for Zenon on the basis that lurking is always bad, but the other good option is Rika. I realise she (probably?) couldn't have known who were the jokers were, but the best reason I can think of for acting like she did is to be converted and for her to have judged that the jokers lasting a tiny bit longer would benefit her, since the last time we played this the converted villains went down immediately before and after the joker. For her to just have been wildly wrong like that given her experience is dubious to me.

I'll concede the point about Rika and lurkers, However Tekora's night 1 death is at the very least highly indicative of a Ghostbuster, given the way it was described the next morning. That and the fact that I don't recall any of the other roles being able to nightkill.

This.
As for being wildly wrong, town just got wildly lucky.
Rika2009-12-02 08:17:34
Let me clarify. This town bandwagoning is one of the worst I've seen. If we hadn't got a Joker, everyone who bandwagoned would have been lynched already.
Unknown2009-12-02 14:04:38
Oh, hi. I got lynched. GG holidays. Anyways, yeah, insane luck there, since us jokers had no clue who eachother were (and the breakdown at the end of the game is gonna make yall lol hard).
