Even if the other two don't have the tell, that just means that until two of the three are dead, whoever gets the nightkills will have to think twice about doing so until the second is lynched.
It's not going to stop them from actually nightkilling though. Just gonna cross their fingers and hope for the best.

Why do you say that?

Let me see. These are suspicious
Aerotan (Seemed to make it appear that the non-vanilla were the scum faction, and way too silent for my comfort)
Tervic (For being so blatantly wrong, OMGUSing at the first vote and then going back to "I'm gonna laugh at the lynch" defense, which screams novice scum to me.)

Because there's no way scum isn't going to nightkill if they have the ability to.

Was this answered before? Are win conditions mutually exclusive? Ie, if Ro/Sham/Bo win, is it game over for everyone else?
Diamondais2009-11-10 19:48:08
Sorry Casilu, I need a replacement, I just can't keep up with the game in my current state.
Rika2009-11-10 19:55:59
Why would anyone nightkill a jester? That's just dumb.
Zynna2009-11-10 19:58:36
We have more control over who we lynch than over who the nightkillers nightkill though. So why give up that control and be dependent upon the nightkillers to prevent the Sham/Bo win?
Rika2009-11-10 20:00:23
The nightkillers are the same people who want to prevent the lynch. It's not like they can kill each other to satisfy their own win conditions. Anyone who nightkills a jester should be lynched for acting against the town/being dumb.

Nobody said anything about leaving it to the nightkillers to prevent the win.
What I'm saying is, if we lynch him now, when we don't know who the other two are, and we aren't promised that we are going to be -able- to tell who the other two are, killing him might be what they need to achieve their win condition.
I stand my my first statement. We leave Xavius alone until we have positively identified who the second jester is.

If conditions aren't mutually exclusive, who cares if he wins or not? Rika2009-11-10 20:19:59
Generally, mods continue games even after a jester win (because it can be a very unexpected way to end the game) and the rest plays for "second". Not sure what Casilu will do in this case since we know there may be jesters. However, I think it's still good form to play like we want to win it, rather than come second.
Unknown2009-11-10 20:25:13
No, I meant if he were Ro/Sham/Bo. That just seemed like a townie roll, with its own special win attached?

Sure they will. If killing the wrong person means they lose the game, they won't kill anyone unless they are certain that they will still be able to win.
Lets put it this way. A SK can win the game with only lynches. It's hard , but possible.
The town can not win without lynching. (Everyone will be converted if we never lynch anybody)
Aerotan was just going off teh logic from the last Lazy mod game, which makes sense when there is only 1 Joker.
tervic is not a novice scum, he's been scum many times, and even won a few times.

If it were on accident, because the nk was trying to win via their nk condition and was stupid, or if the slimy redirect attack made them hit a jester.

Well that and it's Casilu. The moon may explode if the Jesters win, for all we know.

Good point re: Slimer. Even a careful nightkiller may mess up. Even more reason not to lynch:
Slimer: How did you get your license? You are a bus driver, having the ability to switch two people and who they were targeted by that night.

That, and you spent a lot of time on a post, only to not post at all. Me, I only did that if I was scum. In fact, I think for now I'll
Vote: Tervic
Also, a thing to remember. The jokers are going to know who Sham and Bo are, because that would be who they convert tonight. That could be knowledge we could use for later jester-hunting.
