You'll won't be able to go for saplocks..or for thornrends (Not that these can be pulled off in most combat situations anyway with only one druid). In fact, you'll be hurting doing much of anything as a druid.
Penalties, I think, cap at a lv.3 so you wouldn't be going up to a lv.4 with the Stag facepaints...but even if you get something at a lv.2 rather than lv.3, you'll still be slow, slow, slow. Tankier than most other druids, but still slow. Most Druidic things depend on speed, even moreso than int.
However, during raids and whatnot, when everyone's pulling together to do things at once, any helping hand is better than none! I'd be willing to help you figure out how to do things and work your way into being able to help during defense and whatnot...just have to work into finding your niche and what you can do best in spite of what there is you can't do!
You'll probably hate being a druid because of the feeling that comes with it of being useless because of the hurdles presented by your race, because there won't be much you'll be able to do. However, if you're in it more for the RP than the combat, you're more than welcome to come to the Hartstone. (We have facepaints that help with influencing, too!)

Hmm, Moondancer might not be too bad. Balance penalties aren't really what they used to be. Depending on your spec (Like if you went healer) You could probably be pretty invincible. Hexes and Astro are verrry fast balance to begin with too. Plus good buffs to offset your weaknesses.

Nice work encouraging defection Prince and Princess *forum rp*. Seriously, Glomdoring isn't that cynical or close minded. If you join you won't be the next Shuyin obviously, but you could be the next Viynain and be considered helpful and part of commune. BT obviously need more people and you would get noticed there, but that won't stop you anywhere else. As everyone else had said race change would help, unless rp matters in which case any Wiccan or Druid guild has strong rp. Glom wise Harbingers also need alot of help, so just shop around maybe.
In defense of joining "the zerg", if people seek to leave, there are reasons and Celest is frequently just as busy as Glomdoring, so it's not black and white. Anyway, arguments are bad so that is all.

Astro is awesome-in-a-cup. It's fun, good for RP, and great in a fight in the right hands.
Plus a lot of the fighters seem cursed with poor Birthsights.

Spiritsingers could use some big people, too. Our membership has dwindled, though, given seren's political situation, but we've been having 3-5 members awake regularly in the past week or two. So, I can't guarantee a hartstone-level reception, but I can say that we'd love to have you.
As a bard, your high charisma will make a difference. Also, we have the best influencing in Serenwilde. Just don't leave... Seren has few enough fighters as it is.

Healer wiccan would be fun for a tae, I think.
Unknown2009-11-22 00:30:01
For group defense, you really don't need to be optimal or anything. Any little bit helps. Both wiccan and druid have passives which would be fine enough!

First off, thanks to everyone for their helpfulness <3

Hartstone is a very small guild, smaller even then Shofangi right now
... How many non-novices does Hartstone actually have? I see you, Aiyana, Lehki... (Don't see Selskia wandering around much, and never heard of your GC). Then again, I only see one or two Shofangi wandering the Wilde, but maybe I'm just not seeing the shofas QUOTE (fern)
As a druid, slow eq is absolutely terrible. Absolutely everything you do requires equilibrium, and nothing is gained by being slow at it.

By this, do you mean that theoretically/mechanically, it isn't possible to work a saplock with slowed eq?QUOTE
Stuff about bards
I'm a bit iffy about going to a bard guild, as it seemed to me like the whole 'noms earwort/faeleaf' gets a lot of complaints from certain parts of the forum in terms of speed. Perhaps it's outdated info? What's eq/bal like on the music/glamours skillsets? What's the main source of bardic damage or kills anyhow, and would the deathsong still be usable with eq-3 (or would earwort be faster always)?QUOTE

What's the bal/eq like on Astrology and Hexes (They sound like burst affliction skills, apart from... meteor)? How effective/useful is Healing? (keep in mind I'll be slower than most!) Would the standard combat tactics work slowed? (This is why I'd like passive effects @.@)Everiine2009-11-22 00:52:15
You COULD just avoid all the drama by staying with the Serenguard
I had to, sorry .

Keep in mind Raeri, you're a Stormcrow and it's generally not a well liked family in Hartstone.

AND you come from the Serenguard. That's TWO strikes against you .

There is an ability in Healing called Auras: you're able to radiate up to five and while they're up, afflictions cured by those auras will be passively cured. For example, radiate auric, and pacification, aeon curse, peace, powersink, punctured aura, succumb, jinx will be passively cured. There's also the option of radiate health, and I expect you'll be one tanky tae'dae. Though you won't be able to utilize active curing with Healing as much, you'll be good with the passive, since Healing consumes ego.
You'll also get bedevil and aurawarp for offense, which can make or break a fight. There's also neurosis aura, which passively cures insomnia - you can time it with pixie and sleep to lock.
There's also farheal and farcure when you don't want to fight in the front line. Succor takes no balance nor equilibrium, and it shows you the current health and afflictions of a target.
Raeri2009-11-22 01:47:23
Hmm... how often do the auras tick? How much does the health one heal (scroll-like, sparkle-like or sip-like?)
How exactly do aurawarp/bedevil work? Are they curable via allheale, and can they be worked around?

Except that Hartstone has nothing against Serenguard. A point that, despite being told numerous times, you refuse to grasp.
Edit:: Dylara's point is valid though, and justifably so. Stormcrow are kind of the nemesis family RP-wise for Hartstone. That and Oakvine. So while you might be welcomed and such you may be frowned on in other ways.

Likely you won't catch much flak for it, as long as you don't parade around yelling at everybody that you're a descendent of Brennan.
Then again, it could be considered a coup for Hartstone to be able to claim a descendent of their nemesis as a member!

I refused to wear the name and I got flak.
Either way Raeri, the decision is yours. I'd really like to see the SC's come to Glomdoring because that is RPly, their home but I'm hardly one who's going to hate you for choosing to stick in Serenwilde.

Yeah, but she was still Nimaet when she joined Hartstone. Raeri would be joining as a Stormcrow, so it's different!
