So... raise your hands those of you who have used Encipher.

Yeah, that many huh? Encipher seems like it could be incredibly fun for RP though, But how to make it more used?

I think that it ought to see a small upgrade. If encipher could be used on all documents, and at the same time it could be enciphered not to be limited by skill in some specific ritual, but by membership in orgs, clans and so on.

Even better it would be if there was some way to intercept letters and such, which could make enciphering important, and even fun if it made an actual cipher out of the letter so you could decipher it.

I dunno, maybe it's a foolhardly idea, but I like it.

Being able to encipher illusionary script could be neato.

They can translate to languages. Encipher is a ritual that makes it so you cannot read a text unless you know Sacraments/Necromancy.

one part of the above that is a suggestion to improve encipher is to change it so that it enciphers into an organisation specific language effectively.

I do know how encipher functions. In response to the point I have mentioned above among the languages that bookbinders can translate into are special unspoken org based languages. Normally org includes commune/city/guild/clan and so the suggestion is a replication of an existing skill.

If encipher showed an actual encrypted message that would be interesting and would remain secondary to the bookbinding ability(as bookbinding prevents decryption) though it would likely be a lot of work as I believe all text that you cannot read simply gives a line indicating this rather than presenting the full but obscured text so it's just a matter of confirming wether you can read the text nothing more.

Happened across this aaaand, BAM!:

Syntax: TRANSLATE INTO SCRIPT FOR
This is a complete rewriting of a book's content into enchanted script,
which can then only be read by members of a specific organization. You will need 15 applications of magical ink to do such a translation. If an author seals his or her book, it may not be set in enchanted script.

Though I do like the intercepting letters idea, maybe give the ability to trackers or something and it can only be used at certain spots? Would be awesome tongue.gif
