I gotta ask, was the Rebirth of the Glomdoring this big of an event? Even back when I played 3 and a half years ago, I just BARELY missed the Glomdoring. My neighbor filled me in all about it, though!
Yeah, pretty much was.

I wonder if they'll get new tertiary skills? Yea, Runes, Dreamweaving, Astrology, etc. are nice, but think of the potential for new fancy stuff...

Seconded!
Wonder if Lucidians/Trills/Dracnari will get specs.

In time, young grashopper! In time!
I know! I'm honestly really excited to see what kind of mechanics you come up with for the new guardians - mage specs are mostly just a matter of cobbling together demesne effects, and warriors just need some support skills from their ritual spec, but guardians are going to need an actual mechanic designed around them (like inquisition for Celestines and sacrifice for Nihilists). Even though the release forms of new skills in Lusternia tend to be drastically over- or under-powered, the concepts are almost always interesting and I'm curious to see what you've come up with

Me too, but I just read the announce post describing how they would be released - I was hoping to get to play as a guardian of the continuum over Christmas break. Don't want to spend credits to be an aeromancer than have to redo it again on whatever the Hallifax guardians are.
Oh well, may join the city anyway just to play around.

This is where my having a million alts comes in handy, I have some I'm free to move and test out.

Something curious.
This new Hallifax does is, as Shaddus partly put it, gives me the impression of a Vulcan-esque (western thought) communism, whereas several months back Estarra had mentioned that the Hallifaxian culture was based at least loosely on Confucianism.
Has that influence been wholly scrapped here?

I shamefully admit my familiarity with confucianism is small however, I believe you've mistaken Hallifax and Gaudiguch.
Zalandrus2009-12-21 05:34:04
Yea, Gaudi sounds much more Asian in its philosophies...Daoist is what I thought first, actually.
Hallifax = scary.

Yes. Gaudiguch reasonably strikes me as chaotic Zen/Taoist.
Confucianism and Taoism have blended (I too am woefully under-educated on these things), but the two have been considered the parts of a dichotomy by some scholars, or opposed. Particularly, (and sketchily) one places an emphasis on ambition, decorum, and accomplishment; whereas the other denies them in favor of the sublime, unexamined approach to experience and action.
Garlique made the thread where Estarra commented, or else I just remember Ithya there, thinking Continuum would be full of giant Krishna-cherubs. Let me see if I can find the post.

If I see modrons in Continuum I will laugh.
PS: Don't trust the skull.
Serious question: So fleshshapers are a Guardian type, a Warrior type or a something else? Couldn't quite peg them.

Someone noted the specs...
Dracnari should get the pyromancer spec (which would be the same spec for guardians according to most races) and learn the warrior one when they get warriors. Same for monk and bard.
Trill and Lucidian same for them.
Dracnari spec idea:
CURRENT
SPECCED
Specs currently all lose dex, but with size changes and kabobs and such you can get dex up a bit at least. No one loses con so that is left in tact. Int and Cha usually buff by about 2 based on current high. So it seems fair to give 2 to each. That is a like Viscanti (sip penalty and decent stats) but better stats and doesnt have the super resists, but has alcohol tolerance. Sounds good, the dex is crap but it has nice other stats.
Trill:
CURRENT
SPECCED:
This one I took more liberty with but 16 int and 17 cha seemed really high but int is usually same or higher than charisma. I figured a bird was more likely to lose strength than dex though. Again nice stats but lower con, very little weakness though and resists cold and electric.
Lucidian:
CURRENT
SPECCED
Decent stats once more. Resists magic and cutting and electric to mild degrees. Weak to blunt and thats a killer, so con is a good thing to have.
These are all purely speculation of course. As we dont currently have any kind of spec that adds eq or balance speed or anything I didnt note any, but some of them could use it. Dracnari could use at least eq +1 to help with the -2 sips. Again, speculation.
