Back to Common Grounds.

If they're as painful as they were before, the morribles might well be one of the most powerful guardians.

I mean, 3k psychic? Ouch. Doubt there'll be as many as there can be of daughters/ladies, of course.

I can finally belong to a city again...I'm so happy. I never thought either city would reappear while I was around.

Though, staying up for 30 hours straight to get the lower ward generators back online...that was tough.

But the city is now awesome, and up, and and and...shiny...

Well, this is interesting.

I wonder if there will be any change in Klaymech, since I believe I remember somewhere that he went mad with the disappearance of Fire and Air.

I want twin hooks somewhere.

This is -exactly- what I said!

I love how we've seen the spix/morribles/ribbachi and so on, since they went on a rape tour of the other Cosmic planes a little while ago... but everyone has absolutely no idea about Continuum or their guardians. I go up there, and the denizens are all... floating geometric shapes?

Mind. Blown.

Continuuity needs to be epically awesome in a Hitchhiker's Guide 'I reason you out of existence' type of way.

We saw the shapes on prime too.

You guys need to add cubix exits for the new elemental and cosmic planes, FYI.

They can leave that alone till the cities can actually manage a defense, yah. Right now the only way in is through the Nexus.

What you do need to add is exits from the Ring of Portals, and I guess Divine Havens

Managerial technique, COMPLIMENT SANDWICH, ENGAGE!

- The release of the cities hooray!

- I have no words for these skillsets. Are these from the original design document or something? All the changes made to mages over the past two years have negated effects like these. It will take the envoys 6+ months to fix these skillsets, and that's if you even let them. Basic example, chain lightning. Damage goes up for each person it hits. Doesn't that seem counter-intuitive? I would like to see anyone take the "intended" 25 people to whatever hallifax has and not get instagibbed by 3 defending aeromancers.

Similarly, I can think of three ways immediately to have incinerated limbs go off in the first or second round of demesne ticks, every single time.

- The areas look really cool!

What Desitrus said. Aeromancy isn't exactly free of flaws, but at least the OP is situational at best.

Pyromancers, on the other hand... passive sunallergy, slickness, blacklung, asthma, amputate/broken limb, ablaze, damage, salamander aff, increased burns. There's various different ways in which to cremate someone in less than 5 moves. I mean. What.

Aeromancy is in no way exempt, with the possibility of seven afflictions per pulse if timed properly. Keep in mind that the more afflictions you can give, the stronger illusions become. It also has a supreme control-style demesne with phy+men heals every tick and pool-healing. Just disgusting in another way.
Mirami2009-12-23 07:24:52
Uh. Yeah. Have to agree with Desitrus- at first glance over the ABs, Pyros look insane. Incinerate + the circle thing that rebounds with increased burn levels looks crazy, especially against monks.

I never said it wasn't ridiculous, just less ridiculous in an overt way.
Nobody is going to instantly crush anyone with Aeromancy, unless we're talking double chain lightning against raid groups.
Pyromancers are more immediately flashy in a 'whoops, you're ash' way.
Rodngar2009-12-23 07:37:11
I would have rather gained the immense power of Pyromancy, but Aeromancy really has grown on me. It is an incredibly powerful skillset after Ciaran and I did some research. Even an initial glance yields a very strong impression.

Templars first!

Oh, hey, look, the Pyro skillset is up.

Passive non-poison asthma + passive non-poison slickness + beastmastery poison + ger rune = someone didn't think this through

You can do so much better than that buddy. Especially given that their special pet sets you on fire/clears fire protection.
Esano2009-12-23 08:12:56
That's not the biggest issue here.

Passively increase burns (which can take multiple apps to cure one level) plus half a dozen passive salve affs (including possibly passive amputate, ie double regen, on arms and legs) plus an active way to increase burns as well as give high damage (twirl or incinerate) plus a 3p instakill at level 4 burns. Yeah, um, OW.
