So thunderbirds can't fly unless you have the ability of Beastmastery. Good thing crows from Druidry Totem can fly regardless... I guess it's apparent who are really masters of the air. Sometimes I wonder what the admin are on when they make these decisions.

Sounds like a bug with crows, not thunderbirds!

Apparantly, I was wrong about no "IC" justification, it still feels forced

No, it's definitely a feature.

QUOTE
Call on Great Crow to gift you with a crow's egg. The power cost will be significantly less if cast on the Ethereal Plane. The crow will be able to fly and have the unique inherent ability to give blacklung.
Syntax:
BEAST ORDER BLACKLUNG
Beast Mana: 250

This is a unique attack that will give the blacklung disease.

NOTE: If you lose the druidry skill of totem or forget the Crow specialization, your crow will not abandon you; however, it will lose its special beast abilities. You do not need the Beastmastery skill of flying in order to fly so long as you have the druidry skill of totem and the Crow specialization.

Thick black smoke wreaths you, and you begin to hack and cough.
A rolling wave of fire sweeps over you.
Your flesh is charred and you receive first degree burns.
Your skin and lips crack amid this parching heatwave.
Your flesh is charred and you receive first degree burns.
Your flesh burns as a sheet of shimmering fire envelops you.
Your flesh is charred and you receive first degree burns.
A burning salamander spits in your eyes.
A ball of wild fire smashes into you, searing your flesh.
Your flesh is charred and you receive first degree burns.
Liquid fire rains down on you, broiling your flesh.
Your flesh is charred and you receive second degree burns.
You begin to sweat profusely in this sweltering heat.
You breathe in some black ashes, and then begin coughing hoarsely.

Uh huh. Burns also take more than 1 liniments to cure.

Heh, a single ignite (getting you level 1 burns) takes 2 liniment applies to cure. And the demesne piles it on like crazy. If it stays consistent at 2+ applies per, the demesne by itself gives you 10+ seconds of applying liniment to get back to cured. What's the demesne tick again? Oh, and they can actively push it up, too?

And how fast are you going to run out of liniment?

'Tis rough.

Burns seem to work like wounds, with different burn degrees being like light, medium, heave and critical wounds.

But yeah... builds pretty damn fast. D:

I cure pyro meld completely before the next wave. The killer is the bleeding from amputate which should be dropped by 3/4s. Also you should be able to invoke green with 0 arms not be cure locked.

Edit:: That's with basic cure triggers on meld hitting, nothing for amputate, and with pyro dagger hitting as well.

Should also be noted that protection scroll completely stops pyro meld, they can't knock flyers down passively, and they have no underground attack.

How are you getting amputated if you're completely curing the burn levels?

Oh I dunno. Maybe I said "since we are testing, let's see what amputate looks like and does." Just a thought.

I'd like to see the logs of this then, since it's not jiving with my observances of how burn levels work. As well as how much liniment you're using every time the demesne ticks (as that is, to me, the most important issue here!)

If we're doing things like drawing back bleed levels on amps, make sure we confine it to pyros please.

We just got pureblades nearly worked out, no need to start nerfing them with collateral damage tongue.gif

I think before we nerfstick anything, we should see how often pyros get beaten. We should also remember the complete lack of utility in Pyromancy. Literally everything is devoted to killing the opponent better.

I am not advocating reducing bleed on amputate itself, just on pyro amputate. Also, I believe that amputates should not happen below fourth degree burns. From testing it looks like they are happening on 3rd and with active attacks you can be at 3rd fairly easy. I would say move that up to 5th.

@Kialkarkea: It is pretty easy to see that bleed for pyros is insane, 850 a limb easily adds up to 1k+ and is passive. Not even druids which are supposed to be the bleed meld can get that passively in 1 tic.

At that point, who needs utility?

EDIT: Let's not for get phantasm claws on top of amputate bleeding. Pyros are dps to the core. sad.gif

IDEA - New artifact - Ointment. Works like the golden soap, just liniment instead of cleanse.

And once that's done, we'll hand godmode to the Celestines. They all get beaten all the time. That must mean that they got magically downgraded without actually taking a downgrade, hence 'magically' downgraded. Not, say, a downgrade to their magic. Just wanna be clear and all. And then, once Pyromancers get a BS free ride and Celestines get their godmode, we'll continue to ignore the Cantors, because they never, ever show up on deathsight...because they all moved to Hallifax or went inactive, 'cept for the three leaders and Faragan.

I will say this.

Regardless of current balance (which is always a touchy issue that can't really be clarified until after extensive playtesting; this is why we have the envoy system even after 4 years), the Admin have clearly done a massive amount of work and I, for one, am grateful.

So, vote.gif!

Some people just like to complain. Thank you for putting up with them and the rest of us, admin
Nymerya2009-12-25 09:12:16
I'm thrilled the two were finally released, really. I flailed around a bit realising I wouldn't be able to join Hallifax, but now, I'm more interested to see how it will all turn out. I also think Magnagora came through all of this exceedingly well, as we didn't really lose too many people.

As for the question of balance, I don't think the rage some people are displaying (both in and out of game) is really going to solve anything. Admin testing is never going to be to the same level as player testing- everything will inevitably need adjusting to some degree for new classes and effects.
