I'm sorry Bioware, I take it all back. I love the Mako, with all my heart and soul. Bring it back, and get rid of this god-awful planet scanning crap. Oh god, please make it stop sad.gif

Hehe, Tell me about it. And, erm..... 100% completion for me in 20 hours? Lame, anyone?

I have to say..... All in all, I think I liked the first one better. Better choices, better last battle, better story ( I mean, playing the Spectre was so much cooler then the Cerberus toy. The fact that it was mentioned in passing maybe 3-4 times over the game was so bad. I mean, How long was the council even in it? 2 minutes? I thought for sure you'd get a Spectre on your team or something).

All in all, I just felt less in contact with the very vibrant universe that the first game had. Most of this game was running around assembling your damn crew, and doing loyalty missions. There were far, far to little bonus missions as well.

But hate of all hate for me..... Who had the idea to remove armor and weapons from the game? absolute idiocy. I literally just sat in the Terminus Armor, which is really, really not cool. And there was no epic meta-side quest to get some epic add on, either. I was just totally under whelmed by the paltry power/armor/gun list. Simplified =/= better. I'm going to have to pick up Dragon age now.

I guess all in all.... I want the last one to be a fusion of 2 and 3. Cool characters and upgrade system with an active universe and awesome equipment

You guys honestly preferred one to two?

What the hell is wrong with you?

(hehe nerdrage rhyme)

I quite liked not having to spend 30 minutes sorting through junk inventory.

I agree that sorting through inventory absolutely sucked, but it seems kind of odd that the reaction to 'Wow, the inventory system in ME1 was -awful-' was 'Yeah, you're right. Let's get rid of inventory completely.'

The entire sandbox quests in ME1 were crap and added very little but redudency without storyline. I am glad they left those out. As am I glad they left out the entire collect medals of whatever. Planetscanning is somewhat crappy, but an improvement on having to search the sandbox areas.

Many things are better, although I feel gimped at how easy the game is. I feel ME1 was more difficult, altough it could just be that they balanced the classes in 2. The Cerberus storyline adds a more grey area to the typical good vs bad (besides spectre stuff is actualy not the focus of the game, in fact the basic storyline for 2 is that you let the council die) .

We also know DLC is the main reason for ME2, and it will entirely depend on how many free ones we get and how much the other ones cost to determen if it is worth it.

Some major drawbacks are actually bugs. Bugged mouse acceleration, bugs that force you to load a saved game, bugs that give a black screen instead of cutscenes, bugs that give you both paragon and renegade points, bugs that make it you only see half of the conversation selection screens. etc.

Honestly a single player game should not have that many bugs on release.

I just don't think 2 is as much of an improvement as it should be. In removing some of the problem areas, they went way, way to far down the wrong slope. All I can do is hope 3 is a solid amalgamation of 1 and 2. Take the best of both worlds. I mean, it's cool you listen to issues players have with a system, but you don't go and rip it out entirely. Just because most people hated rooting through the menus does not mean equipment overall is suspect. Sometimes some of the coolest parts of games is doing a very hard to find quest that nets you some awesome euipment that most people won't have. I just feel like everything this game has to offer is very face value. Everyone is getting the same face value. I mean, honestly, what good come out of exploring everything? Woohoo, I got to do 4 more little 4 minutes quests. Yeah, thanks, I'll pass. If I bother to do a second play through, it'll only be to finish off the achievements and to see how badass renegade Shepard is.

The Tali fiasco also didn't help my mood much.

Hm, I dunno. Two has far more solid mechanics. Cover is better, firefights are better, and if you play on anything less than hardcore having played one, you are a sissy!

I watched someone play through normal mode and I can't even imagine, it's like walking all over everything. Pretty much every enemy has armor/shield/barrier/etc in hardcore, plus about 3x the amount. Ammo management, immunities, etc all come into play.

As opposed to 1, where you could just lift anything regardless. Force choke ahoy!

I played on hardcore my first time around and had fun. Insanity is some bullcrap though. It's fun wrecking an entire stock of assault rifle ammo into one of the big mechs and only seeing 1/2 shields go down while it still has armor and health. sad.gif

I wanted to try out a renegade playthrough though and went for normal because why not. Man is it easy.

I dunno, it's not even enjoyable for me when my allies just kill everything instantly. I find that it's kind of an annoying balance, though. If you're on hardcore or insane, it makes a character like Jack absolutely useless. Everything has armor/shield/barrier and that negates all the CC biotics. When something hits its real life bar, your group is usually min/maxed on damage and kills it instantly anyway.
