If I dirge, I have to pause my system so I won't do anything which will disrupt and stop the death song.
Not that that is here or there or anything to do with the gist of this rather odd thread, but hey, there you have it.

Not sure what you use for a system, but if it's Ethelon's I can help you with that.

I do use his system but I've been picking at it just because I do have a certain amount of interest in learning the stuff, or at least to the extent of doing what I want it to do. In fact, he'd likely offer help with certain things if I asked but part of the fun is in learning new things and seeing what I can do.

Vathael, you astonish me. Really. Just through observation. When I think you actually might have enough maturity to resist some good ego-stroking from time to time, and imagine there are actually some lines you wouldn't cross to do so, you shock me.

Alright, just let me know. I set mine up with lines for Chasm/Judgement and a few others, it's not hard. Honestly, the hardest part is figuring out what times/lines you need to unpause.

Heh, I might just end up asking you, and thanks!

I just put everything that can mess up a channeled command (sipping, eating, clt echoes, etc) into a folder called optional, leaving only echoes and color triggers out. Then, disable the folder!
The trickier part is teleport or summon, since you have to delete or pause your cycling songstat timer.

Look for pause or stop in Ethelon's triggers, add it to the end of your deathsong line and you have auto pause. I wouldn't do it on the alias as if you're off balance <-- that would suck.
Unknown2009-12-27 12:08:00
Better to do it as a trigger off the text for deathsong starting, rather than an alias.

Only if you want to deal with someone illusioning it once they realise what you do. A combination of both is best; an alias to enable the trigger for a few seconds.

I just meant that turning your triggers off based on the attack alias is not very smart. There's lots of ways you can do it of varying complexity, but that was definitely the worst suggestion. I'm a bit lazy and just have triggers myself, but I have echoes that scream pretty loudly at me if optional settings go off, and my system tracks affs even while paused, so the minor chance and small delay hasn't seemed to be worth the effort yet, since I've had more important things to code.
Watch you start illusioning it nonstop, now.
