Why do people assume that Seren's going to be enemies with Hallifax?

I'm pretty sure Arte jumped the gun and a couple people tried to psyvamp train Narsrim because he was standing RIGHT THERE in the room with a bunch of Gaudiguch raiders. I hesitated to attack because I wasn't sure what was up between Halli and Mag. sad.gif

I have to admit, this is probably the most moronic thing I've ever read on these forums. Ever.

Gee, Narsrim is standing with people who are raiding, but he must just be an innocent bystander.
Hey, that's called raiding, if you're unsure on the proper terminology. Whether he's attacking or not, I'm sure his song's up and they're all allied for benefits.

I mean, come on, it's Narsrim. He's never innocent, ever.

Edit: Okay, not that moronic since Azoth started spouting off his crap, but still pretty dumb.
Esano2010-01-06 04:36:55
It's also something which is better (and is being) handled ICly, where it should be.

Plus I'm on unreliable wireless at the moment, so don't want to get into a big forum debate.
Unknown2010-01-06 04:37:29
I thought it was pretty obvious that things were heading to Mag/Gaudi vs. Halli/Glom. Celest and Seren are nonentities now and will probably sit by the sidelines unless it's Glom-territory-related. Then they will field a mighty 1-2 person each for The Cause.

I'll admit my mistake is giving the benefit of the doubt to NARSRIM of all people.. but when Hallifax is a young organization, he's the Champ of the Cacophony, and Magnagora ISN'T the organization raiding - plus, my last known news as Magnagora is at least neutral with us - then I think hesitating for a MOMENT and not attacking him is an intelligent thing to do. When he started attacking, though..

Heh, the IC part of it is better handled IC, but when you make a statement that appears to be OOC in nature in an attempt to shift blame to Hallifax ("But then Hallifax attacking Narsrim (and trying to blame him or make excuses)")... you should probably expect a few people to poke at it, heh.
Rika2010-01-06 04:43:21
Hey, I didn't even attack Narsrim and he started attacking me. dunno.gif

That was pretty much the content of the IC conversation Rika and I had before she had to qq, from Esano's PoV.

And really, I'm not going to change IC situations due to OOC influences, so you can pretty much assume that a reference to a possible change to an IC situation which has reasoning attached ... the reasoning will also be IC.

If Seren could field two people who played the game for PvP, I would be very, very happy.

I don't think anyone is, they're just assuming they won't be allies 'cause Hallifax is vying for Glomdoring's affection. Plus, Seren have a pretty big historical reason to dislike Halli anyway. (Them blowing the Taint onto Gloriana to save their own necks.)

Then you took what was an OOC examination of the IC situation and (for some reason) decided to bring IC logic into the argument. Which is kinda weird, as in the context of the discussion it reads pretty much exactly as an OOC shifting-of-blame. "Curse you Hallifaxians, it is all your fault!"

So, again, you really shouldn't expect anything but some poking at it, heh. It doesn't really hold any weight on an OOC forum, IMO-- I certainly can't blame anyone for thinking Narsrim was raiding in this situation, I'd have thought the exact same thing.

If it's just the IC logic, then it probably belongs IC. And only IC. happy.gif

Edit: At least, when stated "straight out" and not as a "This happened, and it's being read this way IC even though it really shouldn't be."

Ok I didnt go through the 10 pages I currently see of stuff soooo I will just go head and post and keep those in mind.

- The raiding right now is Hallifax and Gaudiguch, that is it. Gaudiguch isnt allowed to touch anyone else, Hallifax I have no idea.

- Glomdoring comes to help Hallifax

- Gaudiguch has not needed help in defense ( in a fair fight we dont even always focus on making demesne, half of us can staff the other side to death the last time they tried).

- The layouts of both Cosmic planes are utter stupidity :/ Which I will explain more.

If you go to Vortex its basically a line with alot of breakoffs and you cannot readily tell where the nexus is unless you check your map alot. In Celestia and Nil you could sprint or walk 3 steps to the Nexus. The Special exit makes it impossible to raid perfectly ( balance loss to use valve iirc). While Continuum is a royal pain to raid. Tons of Smobs, and they have kicked their own smobs to get the smobs attacking, it is far easier to use their nexus than to try to navigate the plane itself.

- As a note for Azoth who I did see on page one. Guards shouldnt be required but then again no one expects anyone to be... special.. on prime so they would be needed.

- Hallifax can repel raids when they are organized, and they can use construct under many conditions to escape, which they do.

The problems arent bad right now really, if raiding needs to be toned down let us know but Hallifax cant even tell when we raid (Air Lords, and shapes dont call for help) unless someone dies. Look at the last raid it was like 3 of us and Narsrim exploring, then 7 or so Glomdorites show up to aide the defenders.

Someone who likes to raid is on your plane with their IC relative who is attacking you. So, either they're having a family discussion or he is raiding.

Ignoring the Opal Sphere just off the Nexus, Continuum is easy to raid. You aren't required to go anywhere near the Smobs, as they're all at the centers of the rings.

That said: Hurrrrrrrrrr.

The MAP isnt always honest, and some pyros dont dampen mirage, unlike Nil or Celestia we can get around without exact room names if we move a bit and look, alot harder on Continuum.

Not how raiding is done. Denied. Please try again rolleyes.gif

At the Narsrim discussion...he actually bothered us today when we were raiding cosmic, wanted me to test by throwing him into rooms while I was trying to kill people..he's more of a bother to me then to you guys confused.gif

If Narsrim wanted to, we could turn this into the Glomdoring incident 4 years ago where all tutors, guards, npcs, and such got brutally murdered just because 'We don't want you to exist' came into our minds.
Doman2010-01-06 06:03:19
I'm sure the admins would love that, because it worked out SO well last time.

So we can have a whinefest on the forums again? "whannn, my god doesn't come to my protection, whaaaan my god doesn't kick my enemies asses for me whaaan." Cuz that'd be so much fun. You know what you could do though instead is learn some self restraint and instead of kicking each other, worry about yourselves. Help build up Gaudi instead of raiding because trying to pummel Hallifax into the ground will not work as I am more than sure the Admins aren't going to let Hallifax die despite Such wanting that. So while I understand you prefer PvP, and you like to use the thin veil of "well she said destroy it!" actually do something that doesn't irritate the rest of the goddamn player base and not grief the other guys. Such a HARD concept. I know.

See this'd require some of us caring what any other players want. I don't spend money on this game to care about how you want to play suspicious.gif

I play by following the guidelines set in an ooc/ic fashion..players only decide this to an IC extent. Gaudi is building itself, and can't go at any faster of a speed then it is already. Me sitting on my hands all day is a waste of time for me..Course the admins aren't going to let us pummel them, but they aren't going to say 'Stop pvp.' after giving us all these new skills tongue.gif

It's not a concept at all, it's a choice. If it irritates you, go play another IRE game.

Edit: To epeeny.

Munsia, I don't think Hallifax is as weak as old Glomdoring was.
