Hartstone druid? Perhaps it would have been fun to do the epic quest with nature curse.
do not see how being restricted to nature curse prevents you from anything I currently am doing.
2 of the items are not even related to guild skills and the other is some of the easiest hunting in the game.
Anyway my primary reason to wanting a guild is not related to skills.

I don't really understand why some classes can go rogue without much issue while others get completely screwed.
Because some of them their bashing weapon decays in a few months and they can't get a new one without being connected to their nexus.

Unless you put an artifact on it (if that is still possible, it was when i was a mage)

There is that. <3 my shield cudgel.

It's a design thing, everyone is supposed to be inside the appropriate org for their skills. The more heavily you are linked to your org the more they like to restrict you to membership within it. Warriors are the same everywhere, it is their choice to chose a org skill or tracking.
Mages, Guardians, Wiccans and Druids would lose their primary attacking skills. Where monks and bards lose a few abilities as well.
A druid could meld existing forest but could not break or create forest, they could not have their cudgel, no sap, no thornrend, no darkseed/scarab, no fury if they wanted to use it. I would also lose, stagstomp, parade, medicinebag, sacrifice, totem, curse and stagform from stag.

Typically the more 'magical' a class is, the more dependent it is on nexus specific power. Warriors are the least, followed by monks, then bards, then guardians and mages, which get hosed. Wiccans are better at being rogues than guardians are, but druids are a lot worse at it than mages. In fact, I'd say that druids make the absolute worst rogues in the game. Blacktalon even moreso, because the Crow abilities which don't require power still require a crow cloak to use.
Razenth2010-02-01 06:02:39
Guardians can still get their symbols fyi.
Unknown2010-02-01 06:04:46
But if their supernal/demon lord dies, they can't reestablish their deep bond, and poof goes the symbol (unless it's artied, I guess). Good thing they're invincible now.

It's going to be interesting, because the population of the Aeromancers at the moment is probably going to drop a bit when those waiting for the guardians can finally leave.

Really? Ah saw nexus specific power but that is just to pact, retracted.
Razenth2010-02-01 06:08:53
I'm not actually sure about the deepbond part. It doesn't say I need Pool power to deepbond, though I'm not going to break my pact just to check (lol at me running through an enemied city doing supplicants). Also, I'm pretty sure the changes that went some time ago also prevents deepbonds from breaking when the Supernals fall. I know it doesn't break my normal pledges.

There actually was/is a hilarious bug where moving into the other city and then trying to symbol call before coming out of novicehood resulted in summoning the symbol of the original city. So you could end up seeing a Nihilist calling a symbol of Elohora.

Can you get a crow cloak if you're not Glom by doing the quest?

No. The feather is a "commodity" that a Crow user uses to make a cloak using a skill in the Crow skillset. And if you are not a member of Glomdoring, Brennan will not give you a web in the first place.

Pretty sure you don't lose the deep pact on death of the Supernal/Demonlord now.
Unknown2010-02-01 06:15:35
Making the cloak costs 10 ravenwood power, so no. Someone else could make one for you, but it would have to be done in secrecy, because Glom would outcast and enemy anyone caught aiding someone who hadn't given up their skills upon leaving. Even so, you can't have a nest, so the only way to get carrion is to PK.
Razenth2010-02-01 06:17:05
No guys, the OTHER quest to get a crow cloak.

There is no other way to get a crow cloak.
Unknown2010-02-01 06:41:12
Yes there is, but I'm fairly sure you can only do it when the Drums are down. Either way, it's a quest item and it'll drop when you log out.
Atellus2010-02-01 07:18:50
Let me clarify, I understand that some classes get screwed, and I understand why that is mechanically, what I do not understand is why the rest do not.
It just seems weird from a design point of view to have such a wide ranging player experience for something as core as leaving a city. I guess it is no less weird than why some classes have to use a ton of power while others do not, or why some guilds are amazing at PvE and others are not.

Unknown2010-02-01 07:27:46
They probably never even gave it a thought. They designed the classes around the assumption that they would be played within their respective orgs, and the more power-intensive ones and the ones that don't share skill sets across guilds ended up getting screwed.
One thing that really doesn't make sense is how rogue wiccans can summon all of their fae, besides the moon and night specific ones, but rogue druids lose access to all druidry feats. A rogue moondancer can summon her banshee and pixie, but a rogue druid can't forest or sap? Pfft.
