Does bodyguard damage a beast's health? And would giving it the armour ability reduce that damage?

No, n/a

The other two cure types I can't comment on, having never used them. I would appreciate a published list, though.

Rumour is that beast cure mind cures things that focus mind does and that beast cure spirit cures things that horehound does.

Bodyguard + RoA is a great combination. I love it. That, plus the coolness factor of having a huge eagle as my pet (which not a lot of people do, afaik) makes me <3 my eagle.

I spent 250 creds on a collar already, and converting him to a pet is on my short list of 'artifacts to shoot for'.

Thank you everyone for the specifics!

Yeah this is my other problem. I just don't really see a pet following atellus around, nothing feels right. Needing to have the pet large enough to ride just adds to the problem. I wish there was a way to get the abilities without the pet, or at least in some form other than a pet.

And how have I not noticed a giant eagle running around? I clearly need to pay more attention to what is going on around me in game tongue.gif

But but but...it's a giant eagle!!! I thought I got the most badass coloring too, til I noticed another eagle with similarly badass coloring. Eagles are just cool like that.

I wish I could trade in my eagle, even though I did get him converted to a beast now. He's had a collar on for ages, and I haven't used him for anything in a long time. Riding kinda sucked, and then I got a custom beast before having the eagle converted, so I don't need him and can't get rid of him. sad.gif

Poor eagle. sad.gif

I wub.gif my custom beast. If you get one, definitely save up and go with the package deal. The reactions are fun! I can feed my manticore arms and legs, for example.

Not to mention that he can't die for long, and you don't have to feed them or worry about their diet before administering reagents.

If you're never going to add the ride capability, then they don't have to be big enough to ride on.

I guess this is something I would just have to email support about but the help file on them seems to disagree:

QUOTE
Custom beasts must make sense as beasts (i.e., not humanoid beings or other
creatures that would be inappropriate as beasts) that you could (at least) be able to ride.

See I just think something like this:

Would be better than a giant dog or pony (no offense to anyone who has a cool giant dog).

Hrm, maybe my knowledge is outdated since a lot of it stems from before beastmastery. E-mailing support with questions is always a good idea. And having one of those things would be hilarious!

Veyrzhul got a harmony sphere as a custom beast. I'm sure something like a TRON bit would not be rejected.

Thanks for the tip.

Another pro-tip:

If you don't like the idea of something always following you around, or how that would look, invest 70 CR into getting chameleon as an inherent. Then no one will see it unless they are specifically looking for it, and you can just set it to cloak all the time you don't want to involve your RP with it directly.

Chameleon is far more useful than many people seem to think.

My favourite inherent for sure.

Isn't it just a normal shroud so thirdeye would see past it? What am I missing?

No. Thirdeye only works on other players. For example, Wiccans can hide their ents and thirdeye cannot see them. It is basically the same thing.
Unknown2010-01-23 19:49:00
You can only see hidden ents on INFO HERE.
Atellus2010-01-23 19:59:16
Show you how often I play a class with ents!

This is just getting better and better, you all should get some kind of commission if i end up getting credits now wink.gif
