Sure!
Permissable are:
1) items created by a player via a trade skill (e.g. golden horn, golden box, bromides, sparkleberry, healing scroll, beauty, throne)
2) all skills and effects resulting from a common skill (e.g. performance, beast cure)
3) items absolutely required for the exercise of a skill or effect resulting from a common skill (e.g. your mount)
4) class defenses that do not require active maintenance during the debate (e.g. fortuna, populus)
5) unrestricted bonuses gained during the normal course of play (e.g. beauty blessing)
6) artifacts owned by the player
7) racial skills (e.g. illdrain)
Not permissable is everything else, which includes:
1) direct attacks obviously not in the spirit of the competition, even if otherwise legal (e.g. web enchantment, amnesia cloud)
2) shrine powers
3) bonuses restricted in number or availability (e.g. other players' artifacts, ego candy, Tosha blessing, Spire of Dio)
4) active guild skills or defenses that require constant maintenance (e.g. twirl staff, puella, roulade, vileblood)
5) Ascendence
6) Divinefire
7) comments about the opponent's lineage or his/her mother's procreative habits

2) all skills and effects resulting from a common skill (e.g. performance, beast cure I have a beast, and feel this requires more than just a skill. Ents dont follow into the room btw.)
3) items absolutely required for the exercise of a skill or effect resulting from a common skill (e.g. your mount) See above
4) class defenses that do not require active maintenance during the debate (e.g. fortuna, populus)Harmony has defs that are not actively maintained, as does psionics. No ego regens or debate/influence buffs from guild skills
5) unrestricted bonuses gained during the normal course of play (e.g. beauty blessing)
6) artifacts owned by the player Artifacts in general, the whole event is about having support, if you have support from someone with an ego regen rune, sure you can use it.
7) racial skills (e.g. illdrain) Yes

Last seal the things that were just kind of dumb:
Roulade was insanely nasty, and could do it every like 2/3s, and with tinkering you can get even better heals from it. As a faeling bard with penumbra and tosha I had over 10K ego and could use this to heal fast, and now the healing is stronger.
Presence in ascend was dumb.
Penumbra was kind of retarded (cause of regen not flat +cha).
Great house bonus is bleh
I had expected someone else to post by the time this went up. Double post not intended. move me below someone elses?

That reminds me... are ascendants allowed to be seal bearers? How about vernal ascendants? If one wins the final challenge, does that just mean everyone else is SOL?

He's gonna win one of these years.

I believe that current ascendants are able to win seals but unable to win the final contest.

If you're going to ban roulade, ban goldenhorn too.
Xavius2010-01-15 06:00:41
Only bards have roulade. Everyone has golden horn. Contrary to popular opinion, they are not repackaged versions of each other.

Goldenhorn is publicly available. It also isnt like 2s eq to use, it is uniform for all guilds unlike Roulade.

As far as I know they are able to win the final contest, it's just extremely unlikely that anyone would support them in doing so, thus they wouldn't.
Also, don't restrict blessings, that's just silly. All these events involve some degree of preparation, and unless you also plan on restricting them for death, war, etc.. just no!
Esano2010-01-15 06:07:34
I believe Vernal Ascendants can compete and claim seals and attempt to become a True Ascendant, but True Ascendants cannot claim a seal (although they are permitted to compete for the credit prizes).
Unknown2010-01-15 06:08:00
If the only person from an org to win a seal is an ascendant, you can bet they'll have support.
Do true ascendants have any advantages over vernals? Besides being able to orghop. edit: Ah, I guess they get a bonus for the domoth that they ascended through.

Bonus with that seal and if/when they leave their org they dont lose ascendant. Vernals fall to normal demi.

What do you mean? What's the difference?
I don't want to have to buy a horn and work it into my system just for a few minutes use when I already have roulade.
Unknown2010-01-15 07:21:46
You could just, liiike, make an alias to use the horn. And use it. You know, when you want to.
Esano2010-01-15 07:43:00
Horn is slower and heals less.

Nope. Would waste too much time not using eq immediately when it becomes available. Guaranteed fail. I need to be able to queue up commands to wait on eq.
Esano2010-01-15 08:31:19
If you use Treant, it has a do alias which will do what you need.

I don't.
I've already got roulade prepared, but if the rule is posted as "yes horns, no roulade" I will shell out the 10000+ gold and add it to my system. Given sufficient notice. While grumbling.
