Oh, what we also need is something like a practice debating thing! Like you won't be shattered for 10 minutes. It would help so much so you can teach novices. To teach combat, we have arenas! But nothing for debating sad.gif

If you debate in the arena, you're still shattered when it times out?

Also, yes, villages definitely should be much harder if you control the opposing, if not outright impossible. Our village to city/commune ratio is much, much smaller than it used to be. Started out 8:3, then 10:4, now it's 10:6. Not only are there less to go around, but with everyone fighting over a village it takes ages to settle. Add more villages, make it harder/impossible to hold opposing, do something, but even it out a bit.

Random idea for order affinity:

Each member of a Divine's order who resides within the city said Divine is a member of the Pantheon would passively generate communion (to borrow a term from Imperian). Each person would passively generate communion each weave the amount increase with order rank and length of time within the order. It could also be increased with the offering of essence.

A member of the order could then use his or her communion generated for various small blessings: Personal, order, bonded Orders, Guild, and city. Oh and families .With the amount of communion required increasing the more people affected by the blessing, and blessings would not stack.

Blessing Ideas:

Blessing A (Not good with coming up with names) - Using your communion with your Patron you can increase the amount of essence generated per offering.

BESEECH FOR BLESSING A FOR
i.e. BESEECH LYRETH FOR BLESSING FOR TERENTIA

The communion idea is sort of like a subset of the idea of an Order skillset that was in another thread...

What's worse is someone wins the debate in like 10 seconds and then you just sit around waiting for the arena to kick you out. Assuming you only wanted to debate and not spar.

I would be open to teapot designs instead of kegs for teas too, please. >.>

Oh, and that tankard addition for sorcelglass. <.<

Ooo, hadn't thought of that, yeah, that would suck.

Idea: If you control a village, you cannot claim one of the rivals.

Maybe someone should actually contest Glomdoring in one village so that it's not a 3/4/5 way deadlock in the other village until Glomdoring finishes with their village and zergs the second village.

Though personally, I think Ssaliss has it right: I blame the death map.

Possibly also Glom being OP. It's never Glom just being better at coordination.

Though personally, I don't mind if you literally can't control the opposing village. Making mechanical changes because of overwhelming advantage by one side has been done before anyway!

I think in this case it was "Mag being exhausted and most people having qqed after four hours of peekayz, and people not having the heart to yell at other people to go and compete in a village after just winning the Ascension Event". At least for Stewarts.

The statpack system from Aetolia and Imperian. We can has?

(this boils down to my loving taurians and dwarves, but them being useless)
Unknown2010-02-16 09:26:46
Taurian and dwarf are both solid warrior races. Not the best, but with good stats and very minor disadvantages.

I'm pretty sure that equilibrium bonuses don't count towards influence or debating. Just charisma.

Yar. Interestingly, in the old days it was all based on eq bonuses, meaning mugwumps were the best influencers by a mile. Tae'dae complaining got it changed. (And rightly so!)

Taurian have 12 dexterity, Dwarves have 10.

You'll be doing jack censor.gif as a warrior when it comes to wounds.

Edit: Also, maybe I don't want to play a dwarf or taurian that's a warrior. I really think Lusty should incorporate stat packs.
Unknown2010-02-16 13:17:11
I disagree with the need for stat packs. We have specialized races and evolution. It makes us more unique, and not every race has to be tailored well to every archetype. You can min/max or you can RP or maybe seek a middle ground, but you do have choices...
Kante2010-02-16 13:24:00
Most people will tell you that the specialized merians suck (unless things've changed. I don't keep up with Celest).

The problem with finding the middle ground is that you might be able to do decently in combat, but you'll by no means dominate since the stats are so constricting (and this is especially true if you're not a demi).

So if you're someone who enjoys RP and PvP, you're somewhat stuck. You can't really RP one of your favourite races unless you want to be at a stark disadvantage, or you can have good stats but you're not playing the race you really wish you could be playing.
Lendren2010-02-16 13:24:24
Estarra said no stat packs.

Estarra also said no to removing Order Affinity.

All I'm sayin'.
Everiine2010-02-16 14:22:38
Every time stat packs are mentioned they are violently shot down. That specialized Merian suck means that specialized Merian need to be looked at, not that stat packs need to be introduced.
