I want to be able to write in a book without having to sit down at a desk and go into the editor. Writing while standing up shouldn't be that hard! (This can just be to books. Letters and scrolls can still use desks so it doesn't negate that whole skill...)

Have you ever tried to write standing up?! I always naturally look for a place to sit down, or something to lean on, and even then it's hard. Even filling out a form, where it's only a few words, is really frustrating.
Hmmm... perhaps there's an opportunity for a new artifact. A fold-away table and chair that allows writing!

Yes, anything that is thicker than a few sheets of part (say 20 pages, which I think is the smallest 'book' IG) is not that hard. Things like letters or things that are only a few sheets thick do rip if you try to write on them.
Daraius2011-02-04 02:25:59
Well you definitely wouldn't want to write multiple pages of anything standing up, even if the pages didn't rip!

The ability to pay extra gold to write anonymously on the public news!
Lendren2011-02-04 03:30:03
When desks first came out, people argued for clipboards, and many times since. I am fairly sure it'll never happen even as an artifact.
Arix2011-02-04 03:31:04
the reason people can't write without desks is because people like Narsrim would use the editor to escape combat

Yes, please!
Daraius2011-02-06 04:21:06
Ohh, well. Us common folk don't deserve custom poses anyway.

Tae'dae racial - Unstoppable - Tae'dae lose momentum more slowly than other races and build wounds more quickly.
My rage on this knows no bounds.
Also, the coloring in politics is nice but shouldn't Gaudiguch be orange to differentiate it from Magnagora, and Celest a brighter blue so that it doesn't look like the rest of the text.

Celest's is fine, it's not like there are any lines besides those ones on the politics display that are going to be all blue.
You reminded me that my colors are different from everyone else's again! I always forget. Gaudiguch is orange for me, thanks to my inability to look at bright colors on black without wanting to gouge my eyes out. I screw with all my colors to be nice and pleasant on dark brown instead. I think it looks very nice.

Ever tried a white background? Sounds weird, except if you think about how virtually every other program you use has been working for about two decades now.

I couldn't deal with colors on white, though, at the font sizes we're using. They'd either wash out or be indistinguishable as just "dark".
Lendren2011-02-09 19:32:56
Feebus is already willing to tweak the colors, though. It's quite easy to make them have as much or more contrast against white as against black, once you're willing to change them. But I don't try to convince anyone to try white anymore unless they've already demonstrated they want to try changes of this sort. Most people simply won't even consider it.

The ability to recall artifacts. And the ability to switch runes off items without trading it in.

Yes, and only if it destroys the item in the process.

why should I be charged some 15k gold (anything I make perma is a brooch in items of jewelry) for a minor mistake like this. Being able to switch things around should not destroy the rune or the item.
