If the MoC gets it, the CL does too. The only thing I can think of that a minister can do that the CL can't is related to the ledger artifact, because it requires that item.

CL can't do the Construct build stuff (only Power Minister can).

I seem to recall that there were a couple of other commands that CLs could not do. Think it was some of the Librarian things (had to be specifically appointed as a Librarian aide).

Marriage privs for Minister of Culture. Not that I want to perform weddings, but the CL has enough to worry about and some people want secular marriages. I'll take it for the team.

That's a good idea. Of all the Ministries, Culture has the fewest coded things it can do.

Only the MoC can submit plays. I am not sure if the Librarian has the same thing for books. Ministers can appoint aides, while CL can't. I bet there are more things.

Any way we can differentiate between 'sit' and 'lie down' ? Same prone status, different in-room poses?

(so we can sit on the floor without being all sprawled out)

City leaders cannot do anything book related without being an aide. Aides can do whatever the minister can, but usually are told in BIG LETTERS not to ever do that.

With the exception of submitting work for prestige contests (in the case of books) or to the World Stage (in the case of theater stuff). Only the Minister in question can do that. But yeah, most Librarians do not want Aides actually publishing unless they're really trusted. Which makes sense. Publishing the wrong book can cost an org a lot of culture points.

I've always wanted to see a mechanic based on deliberately lowering one's own health. I think it could work well for warriors, whose health is probably the most difficult to damage and the easiest to heal.

We could call it bloodrage, and for every 2.5 health missing, the warrior hits for 1 more point of health damage with his attacks before mitigation.

I've seen some warriors with upwards of 10k health. They do not need +1000 damage for missing a quarter of their life.

Some different implementation could be interesting, I guess. An ability that consumes some health, instead of mana?

You've got a point about the 10k health, but maybe it could still work if it was mutually exclusive with surge? Then maybe we'd see more low-int knight races in the game too wink.gif

2.5 doesn't need to be the final value of course. Let's consider 3-1, knight with no surge has 6k hp, missing half health would give 1k bonus damage (3000 / 3 = 1000), which after armor etc. is probably more like 500 bonus damage.
Lehki2011-02-15 03:38:39
That is still a pretty insane amount of extra damage for knights to be getting I think.
Unknown2011-02-15 06:22:59
Simple. Replace flat numbers with percentages. For every x% of health you are missing, you get x bonus.
Ameryth2011-02-15 08:15:37
I'd love to see custom sculptures or statues in the same way we can paint custom paintings. Although, we might have that already. I should probably check.

I should add that I was thinking in terms of two-handers and not one-handed weapons. Artifacts and speed differences would still be a prob though sad.gif

I think we do.. You may just have to sculpt a statue from three paintings.
Lendren2011-02-15 11:31:17
I don't think you can do that, it has to be sketches.
Aerotan2011-02-15 21:28:27
Can you not sketch landscapes? If not, that sucks and should be its own idea.
Lendren2011-02-15 21:39:05
You cannot, no.

The whole "using a manse room to make paintings from your imagination" thing is, I think, an "unintended feature" that I suspect they'd take away from us if we drew too much attention to it. Last time Estarra commented on it on the forum, she seemed surprised it was possible, but we distracted her quickly before anyone "fixed" it. smile.gif
Kiradawea2011-02-15 22:46:24
If you could sketch landscapes you could create statues of landscapes. That... would take a lot more than five marble.
Aerotan2011-02-15 23:04:26
Could also make some interesting recursing.

Before the office of the Harbourmaster
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. There is a statue of Before the office of the Harbourmaster here, memorializing his noble spirit.
You see exits leading northeast, east, southeast, and west.

Next a statue of that statue.
