I am sad that report 607 was rejected. We are one rune short of the full 24-rune set. My idea: please give us Thorn (or Thor or Thurisaz, whatever you call it) with a really nominal affliction/effect (proning/sleep would have been nice, but I'll settle for 'has a chance to make you hiccup') - I just want Thorn for the arpee.

Any way Ministers of Cultural Affairs could set restrictions on who can view certain recordings at an org stage?

Librarians can allow selective access to certain books based on city rank and citizenship, right? I'd like to be able to do the same for stage recordings.

Daraius made a porno and doesn't want everyone to see it.
Daraius2011-07-31 02:54:30
Casilu gets it. Some things just aren't meant to be seen by the unwashed masses.

I'd like to see plants being unable to be completely over-harvested. That gets annoying really quickly.

Personally I'd rather see a review of hibernation. Far too many plants die during it.

Dogs Gone Wild: Daraius Unleashed
Fit To Be Tied
The Gentlemen's Code (that's the all male one)
We get the picture. The point is, it would be great if MoCAs could set selective access to certain recordings.

Whichever would fix the huge swaths of rooms that get overharvested, I'm fine with.
Ssaliss2011-07-31 16:25:05
The problem with hibernation is that it kills all of the plants that are hibernating in about 95% of the rooms (or so it would seem), unless they're guarded. Which means that if they go unplanted, they become more and more rare. In fact, oftentimes I've had to painstakingly replant the entire inner sea from a room or two whenever I wanted sargassum badly enough.

Nature Guard.
It just needs to be given to Herbalists as well as Wicca and Druids.
Illidor2011-07-31 23:09:30
I'm not sure that that is enough though. How many people are going to go around and guard a large majority of rooms like that?
Ssaliss2011-07-31 23:10:44
Especially considering it only lasts for 32 hours.
Gleip2011-07-31 23:30:27
If nature guard is made to be accessible to more people, then more people are going to be nature guarding, and thus more rooms will end up guarded. Of course, I wouldn't mind if it was made to not cost power, or was greatly extended, or both, but Nature Guard is a good place to start.
Alternatively, ditch hibernation destroying herbs, or make all rooms that can grow a herb regrow a new herb once hibernation is over. In real life, winter does not steadily kill of all plantlife on earth and is only stopped by the valiant effort of some eco-freaks.

Bad analogy, as Auseklis was pretty adamant that we're not needed to protect nature (from anything short of the taint, at least). I'm pretty sure that not having anything on PLANTS doesn't mean they're all dead, just that there isn't enough to harvest.
That said, you're right, it's silly, and part of why I'm not Herbs anymore.
Ssaliss2011-08-01 01:09:58
The "problem" about giving Nature Guard to more people is that... well, if it isn't very used right now, odds are giving it to more people won't make it more used. I rarely use it as it is; only in special circumstances (for instance, I need sparkleberries and they just entered hibernation).
