Ah, sorry, confused the Kata syntax with the Ka syntax. And yea, that syntax would work too, assuming all commands are uniform like that. I chose the A1/A2 etc because then there'd be no confusion at all; KATA USE A1 would be identical to KATA STUDY ;KATA DEVELOP ACTION 1 ;KATA PERFORM .

We can be more intuitive than having to strictly tell it when you make an action. once you say a side/area it knows the action has ended. Generally seeing left|right will mean the end of the action. With the exception of a very small number. Only modifiers should really be explicit, and even then we could be optional about it. I mean you could even use both, but generally its not needed to state which ones are actions. Though I appreciate the thought to monks smile.gif

My main reasoning for the explicit statements would be to clear it up, really. Start a new action, use a new A. If it works without it, then I see no reason not to be able to use that form as well (heck, it could even be so that non-recognised syntax is simply ignored, meaning you can add any text you want in there). And forms is actually the main reason why I've shied away from monk combat; bashing is fine with forms (you really only need four forms; a basic and a raze with and without speed), but creating and keeping combat forms in your head ahead of time was just a bit too much for me, really. Always happy to hear an idea being expanded though!

So, next one: Have ambassadors (or whoever it is who can check manse fulcrux privs) be able to set similar privs on the org aetherportal. That way, it would be easy for, say, Hallifax to set it to not allow enemies and not members of Gaudiguch, and with that, those groups wouldn't be able to enter Hallifax from any manse connected to it. This would make it easier both to keep track of privs for the manse owners and for the ambassador (who could just set-and-forget and wouldn't have to keep track of the privs of the manses connected). As an added bonus, it would allow for some manses to become hubs, connecting to several orgs, thus eliminating the need to search for a manse that leads you to where you want to go.

Why not add other options to the prompt via the in game config prompt thing? I.e. Experience and esteem for example? Alternatively there might also be the possibility of allowing a custom prompt to be set through the in game one. I've seen other IRE games do this successfully.

Yes, please. I am constantly checking score to see my esteem level while I'm in an influencing binge. A few times I noticed that I was near 100 and then my ADD brain took over and I missed out on about 10-20% of esteem while I was already at 100 and full up. It would be nice to be able to keep tabs of this at a glance because those missed %'s add up over time. XP would be a nice addition, or power reserves or possibly even karma?

I wouldn't mind a more free-form prompt, but I think the standard answer to that suggestion is that it takes more CPU than the prompt we have today.

QSC is your friend if you don't want the massive SCORE output!

One of the best things about m&m (and Aetolia, I suppose) is the custom prompt.

New thing:

SEARCHNEWS

So you could do things like...
SEARCHNEWS CELEST KELLY
SEARCHNEWS ANNOUNCE SMUDGE
SEARCHNEWS POLITICS AETHERFLARE

I assume most of our news is set up in a database style method as is to make NSUM and such easier to run. I am hoping this would be a rather simple addition as a result.

Sheesh, you just want to take away the joy of being me, going through NSUM to find out that one post I remember from way back when...

Where we really need that is in the library system, not the news system, since you can client-side the news system pretty easily (as Malarious shows). I IDEAd a while back a way that Weeky's cousin Googol might join the staff at the World Library, without it bogging down the system (basically there's a one-time pre-cached index build job, then you only need to reindex a book when it's submitted or edited); but nothing came of it.

Automatically put one month of stable fees on something when you incubate it.

The ability to ask the server for gmcp room info again. Pretty pleeeaaase o.o Would be make things a little less painful.

Also, I was thinking, why not make brooch of the tempest also work like a levitation enchantment?

1) Use look or a similar thing, it will resend you the room info.

2) Because that neuters at least 3 guilds to an extent, druids (shove wont break, nor will anything hittin you from air), and geomancers.

They were willing to put in the surfboard.

Neither QL, L or LOOK will resend Room.Info.

Which hurts aquas, but really it's only deluge that gets stopped by that? You've still got currents, whirlpool, and stun (feel like I'm missing something) for movement hindering. Sucks pretty bad, and I'm in support of some sort of change there, but it's not the end of the world. I have a surfboard and still get totally stuck in an awua demesne, and have a hard time breaking due to all the movement.

Permanent levitation would do zippo to druids. We have no way to strip normal levitation anyways.
