Falcon:

prize return You form a picture of a black-winged marble throne within your mind's eye and will yourself to your prized possession. 4z3363h, 5214m, 5487e, 5p, 14505en, 24060w x-

This was done on the same plane as the prized item (aethermanse), yet was 5 power where as from prime to the aethermanse itself would be 1 power. Is it possible to reduce the 5 power cost seeing how it was done in the same plane?

I'm pretty sure the idea is so that you can't easily hop from an aethercraft that's going down back go home and go "whew"

You can ascend to the havens for that. It might b so you can't park a ship on say... Nil or an aetherbubble, then prize up to it whenever you feel like, whistle in another ship with a group on it and ascend down later.

If I read Falcon's post right, he's moving from within the manse to within the manse, which should cost 1, not from prime to the manse, which should (and does) cost 5. I'm not totally sure though, he wasn't perfectly clear. (And this should be a bug report anyway, not posted here.)

Simple idea: Make RELEASE KIRIGAMI possible off-balance. It doesn't take balance, nor do I really see a problem with having it possible to do off-balance.

Can config vengeance cover all vengeance related messages please?

Yep, Lendren is right. I get lost in the manse sometimes, and prize return to go back to something close to the entrance, but it costs 5 power when it is on the same plane, so I think it should be 1 power instead.

I'm not sure if Lusternia has this implemented already, if it does then it'd be neat to have it pointed out to me. Would it be possible to allow for folks to watch a duel/wargames from the pov of someone fighting in it? A command like LINKMIND X that essentially throws you into their shows. Nothing you can do would effect the duel/wargames, and I'd go so far as to say that you can't do anything including speaking on clans and aethers until you LINKMIND OFF. To prevent potential abuse of telling people to toad/execute/whatever when it's turned off, cause them to still be unable to do anything for an addition 5s. I see it being useful just to see what sort of strategies folks utilize, etc. You'd have to be in the observation room for the arena that this is taking place in, could even require that you be on the allies list of the person you want to watch. Or, allow players to config something that they specifically do not want people to be able to watch from their pov.

Ideally as an artisan craft, though I suppose it could be done as a manse artifact: a "drop box". Stuck in a room like any other furniture. Anyone can put things into it (if it's not full) but only the person it was constructed for (in the same sense that a throne is constructed for someone) can take things out of it.

There was something like this in place before, where you could watch the fight from in the fight, and it was something of a coding and data logistics nightmare. Rapture seems to have big issues with you being functionally in two places at once, so I don't know how feasible this would be, or even how generally desirable for the amount of pain it could (potentially) cause.

Something very simple, for GAs...I would absolutely love it if punching in GUILD LEDGER by itself would bring up the list of relevant commands, rather than us having to dredge through the entire list of guild privs. Please please :(
Lendren2011-10-17 01:16:52
Sure, I can do that. GUILD LEDGER -> Stuff you will never use. See, that's easy to remember, right? :)

Uh, what? I use ledger stuff all the time.

Was talking to some people about this, but thought I would put it on here, because I really really want!!!

Make a new skill in artisan which would allow them to make easels. These easels could be displayed in a room (as many as you wish, or maybe add to the furniture weight TEMPORARILY) and would allow you to PLACE ON , acting as a temporary exhibit. The easels would be portable so you could FOLD and UNFOLD to put it in/out of your inventory. Also, they would automatically unenchant enchanted painting placed on them, similar to touching an enchanted painting that doesn't have its mate exhibited yet. Also, make them linked to who they are made for, that way only that person could use them, to prevent things from being stolen.

Please??? Please??? Would allow me to have an art exhibit in Hall!!

Edit: I'd be fine if they were even permanent furniture in a room, and the paintings could just be taken off and moved around. Although may need to set this to where only Culture Aides and such can use them in a city, or manse owner in a manse, to prevent stolen artwork.

A similar idea of mine, Display Cases (usable for paintings and other things), got shot down by Estarra in person on several occasions including via envoys and here. No matter how many times people ask for it, there's no demand for it. :(

I don't even want them to slow decay... just to show things off!! Why don't they love us, Lendren???
Lendren2011-10-17 18:25:27
Yeah, Display Cases didn't affect decay either. I dunno. We got something like this made for our guildhall at a huge price, but it's a shame: some coder had to invest a ton of time doing it the hard way, and then the results can't even really be shared readily with others. This one kind of became my white whale: the amount of time I spent writing descriptions of it is easily triple what it would have taken to program it, I feel sure. Ah, well.
Enyalida2011-10-17 18:30:19
Some way to show off paintings would be nice, even on a mostly permanent basis (for those of us who don't have indoor/constructed areas that anyone ever goes to or uses). A way to set up temporary art galleries would be wonderful, perhaps people would actually make paintings of things. Of course, to make anything of value, you need access to a manse, for anything else can just be transmitted textually/is a log.
Sakr2011-10-18 17:08:57
What would be awesome is if spellcraft would need to use artisan crafts for some of their enchantments, and not just tinkering. And vice versa, if tinkering can have some enchantments based on jewelry, and not purely artisan. I think it would increase demand for artisan with other enchanting types, and at the same time it would boost the money making aspect of tinkering itself.

edit:

as for the posts up there, why not allow artisans to create painting frames that allow pictures to be places on desks and such?
Kiradawea2011-10-18 17:14:30
Tinkerers can already enchant on jewelry. They can enchant mercy, perfection, kingdom, beauty, pentagram and void, as well as focus on pendants. What they need is better unique spells, such as avarice. Adding that to Tinkering was a good idea.
