Honestly, it's generally understood that trade skills are, with limited exceptions, a poor way to make money. Remember that the economy is basically dead; if we are going to examine trades, then we must examine all trades, and preferably the rest of the economy. I suggested such a topic in the special report; if you want to make some sort of "Unofficial Special Report Addendum: Economy and Trades", I would love to discuss them, as, I'm sure, are many others.

New command!
Because I'm curious.
AVATARS shikari
The Avatars of Shikari, the Predator are:
Xenthos
Ardmore
Because I'm curious.

Bardmore's an Avatar of Shikari?
Ssaliss2011-11-08 14:39:06
Not sure if this'd be considered simple, or even needed, but... Right now I've got 149 pocketbelts. Not all are filled, but all in all, I've got 478 "items" in them (one item being a group of up to 250 riftables). I'm fairly sure I'm one of the bigger users of pocketbelts, but how about making pocketbelts hold more? That'd reduce the number of items in pocketbelts as well as the number of pocketbelts. Of course, the cost of pocketbelts would have to be increased to match the increased capacity.

Oh, and a second one, more intended to help with the decay: A trash bin. Anything put into it would start to decay far faster than normal, until either decayed or removed from it. That would allow people to trash old vials, and newbies could go look in the trash for things older people have thrown away.
Kiradawea2011-11-08 15:48:36
We already have the nexus for the latter. Where items are destroyed the moment they are put into it. It'd be better to designate a "trashpile" area in your org to drop such stuff, or just put it in a novice chest.
Ssaliss2011-11-08 15:56:49
I was thinking about a trashpile myself, but that'd potentially cause lots of items to be in the same room, and could also be a problem with acquisitio. Sure, the number of items aren't reduced by placing them all in a trash bin, but at least it wouldn't send the GMCP-message of every single item when you step into the room. And as for the nexus, it destroying the item immediately was what I was trying to avoid, actually; with a trash bin, you could place it in there, and if someone wanted it, they could pick it out. If no one wants it, it'd decay quickly.
Enyalida2011-11-08 19:12:30
Newbies picking through the trash: genius. Serenwilde could have an item mulch pile (what, you didn't know that mulching your rings and jewelry provides valuable nutrients to the forest? Obviously cityfolk.).
Morshoth2011-11-08 20:14:46
Hmm, how about making something like artisan vials, which are just the same as arts vials, but which cost twice the gems and hold twice the potions. Could still rune them for double sips, and non-decay, but would help with some of the lag about groups of items.
Edit: and could sorcelglass them to double life span and make custom

Give orgs the capability to set a login message just like the admin message. Nice little reminders of events going on in the city or a credit sale in a guild would be neat and dandy.
Rivius2011-11-10 12:00:44
Hrm, It would be useful to be able to edit and remove envoy comments.
Raeri2011-11-10 12:43:36
I hear bards still cap at 350s for song - duration cap should be lifted so the artie actually boosts by 50% :(
EDIT: And vellum should be riftable !

Not sure if I just don't know of an existing command that does this, but what about some way to see all designs regardless of tradeskill that a player has been marked as the designer of.
Morshoth2011-11-10 19:04:36
Can we have it to where non-tarot and non-rune users can put runes/cards in bag/decks?
Would help with storage of the items, especially if stock rooms are going to be limited

Sakr2011-11-10 20:37:36
Can we give artisans the ability to make signs, other than the shop kind you can buy?
Morshoth2011-11-15 17:15:54
This idea is part something that I've wanted before, but now with stock room changes looming, would really find useful in reducing the amount of items I have in mine.
Can we make it to where you can disenchant sigils if they are dropped on a pentagram with reserves from a powerstone, rather than from our own personal reserves. Other trades have a method of reverting things to the comms that made them, and this would be great for enchanters. Plus, we would still be losing twice the amount of power used to make them, so it wouldn't be like having a completely free method of getting comms back, would cost us powerstones.

Since we can now refresh the duration of Nature Guard, could we be able to also see how long a room is guarded for on SURVEY or similar? Previously, we could only see it by trying to use Guard again, but now that option is kindof... gone.
Iosai2011-11-23 15:41:46
Done!
Unknown2011-11-23 18:49:15
Since Iosai is taking requests, more or less...
Just how hard would it be for any of the longform WHO lists to be sorted alphabetically? If it would have little impact on the game, I'd really like to see the lists sorted that way. I know it's been done in a few other IRE games, but I'm not sure how much a sort would affect processing time/power.
Maybe other options like just seeing the users without their titles or honorifics, or some settings to help determine order.

Well, since the QW/BQ list is already sorted, I'm sure it could be done... :)
