If the idea of a small machine stocked by the city/commune in the post office was made, that would be neat. City designs could be put in, etc. Would be pretty cool. I like all the stationery designs I can see though, so showing them all off would make me happy. Not the best reason to do it of course. But the amount of letters one usually had to stock to make it worthwhile, turns a shop into just a stationery shop these days....or cuts them out entirely.

There's nothing wrong with being a stationery shop. I actually find it much more appealing to shop at a specialized store than to always go and buy everything from one place. But I might be biased because I have a bookbinding cartel specializing in stationery designs.

There's a few missing areas from the site XML like the Divine havens. I'm not sure what the reasoning for that is, but maybe we can has? D:

There's no profit to be had in stationery... So it's not going to happen. If a shop specs, it will be in like... alchemy. Or Tailoring.

I used to stock letters in the guild shop, but finding flax is a pain, and I just haven't been up to it as of late.
That would be fine except they bugged out and Iosai seized them.

Then people must not really want them that badly, and we don't need any new system to provide them. If the demand is there, people will sell it. If you'd make more money being alchemy shop #100 than you would by being the only guy selling enough letters to meet the demand, that's really sad.

It's the same thing with books. You'd figure that being the only bookbinder in your org (and there not being the possibility of buying books/scrolls from other people) would mean that you get a lot of business. People only want letters once in a blue moon. It's not often enough to base an income around, but it's VERY ANNOYING when you can't get a letter. Generally, you only want said letters for official business, which makes it an issue when you want them (once every 2 in game years). If you wanted to make profit, you could price them at like 1000+ gold, but then I wouldn't ever buy them. Even if they were the only ones on the market.
Sylphas2011-12-04 04:28:38
I guess I don't feel the issue since I'm a bookbinder.

I don't either, but I can tell you that as a bookbinder I'm not going to keep stocking letters. The rate of sale is just so pathetic that it's not worthwhile-- I stocked something like 100 stationery items at 100 gold apiece (old letter price) a few RL months ago and only have sold something like 14 in that time.
If someone brings me the flax I'll make 'em a letter and not charge anything, though!

Another idea: Make it possible for City/Commune cartels to have their own aethers like private cartels.

We've been crying over this for years.

Er. Can we have TOTEM SENSE tell you where your totem is? It tells you where all the totems you are caretaker of already.
Saran2011-12-06 20:16:55
Why not just totem return on prime for 0 power?
Enyalida2011-12-06 20:29:55
Not everyone gets totem return immediately after getting bonding. I know where my totem is, but it's always struck me as silly that TOTEM SENSE doesn't tell you, and there is a distinct possibility that younger bonders or those who are only intermittently around may forget.

Allow divine to bestow favours, etc. on entire orgs, guilds, or orders.

Presumably the lower end blessings only. Truefavors and similar should be something special for the individual.

I don't see why. Kalikai occasionally truefavours the entire city.

I have a major problem with that; I must be offering to the wrong gods, because I actually have to put some significant effort into getting my favours most of the time.

I have to trek to the UV and back, uphill both ways, with a rucksack full of rocks and corpses, and about 5000000 trips later and several million in offerings I might get a TF if She even actually remembers.
