How about being able to design forms for momentum 6? I know you can't get to it naturally, but you can with boosting, so being able to add a mo6 action to forms would be nice.
Iosai2012-03-16 20:27:55
You already can.
Ssaliss2012-03-16 20:29:57
Huh. Thought I tried right after momentum-forms came out and was unable to... I'll doublecheck later, but sounds good!
Bolki2012-03-16 23:17:42
You can make momentum 6 forms, yes.

It's a small thing but I'd love it if the perform line "You attempt the kata form of something." had what level of momentum it was doing, as in "You attempt the kata form of something 3.".

Please changelog me, Iosai! B)

o The Kata line "You attempt the Kata form of " will now show the
relevant momentum level of the sub-form you are attempting to utilise.

I havent gotten my prayer on "You have regained on both arms" nor on having a config for leg balances (can even be 1 letter)!
Bolki2012-03-17 02:47:14
Leg balances are in gmcp. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to have them on prompt too.

Is there any way divert can target the first uninfluenced/currently being influenced denizen, the same way that influencing does? Mainly to avoid this:
A Guardian of the Dodecahedron demands of Person, "What are you saying?"
Person appears a little flustered.

A Guardian of the Dodecahedron says to Person, "So what do you want?"
Person appears a little flustered.

A Guardian of the Dodecahedron demands of Person, "Who are you anyway?"

You could have just gusted Person out instead. Though still a useful idea, like in revolts when there are 5 miners/farmers in a room.

The problem with that is you would need either a list of all possible mobs to match against or make a very greedy regular expression that will match more than you need.

Some way to toggle the trigger on and off will be best added.

No time to write all this now, but:

^\\"+(\\d+)\\" +$
will match any eventuality of mob.

o Influence Divert will now target in a slightly more intelligent
manner, ignoring those who are not focused on an ego battle.

Should just change this thread title to "Pray to Iosai" <3

Can I pray that she form an IG cult? We'll give you enough essence to make Eventru's beard shrivel in jealousy!

I was wondering if maybe we could have some new clan verbs!

Right now we have, for example, "clan noisemakers tell Hi!" to send a message to a clan without having to switch to it or use the clunky and error prone clt#. I was wondering if we could also have clan noisemakers on/off, for those instances where people suddenly start making a lot of noise and you want to be a little quicker about turning it off than switching clans, turning it off, and switching back.
If this already exists, I'm so sorry.

I was looking at the karma chaos blessing, and the message it gives isn't super useful. If something gives one mental affliction, you can be certain it was blocked. That's fine. But what if something gives two? Like say an attack gives stupidity and recklessness, the current message wouldn't help me know which one I resisted, so I'd have to still eat pennyroyal and focus mind to make sure I have myself covered. It makes it so that we can't fully take advantage of the blessing. As precedence, we have the tea messages!

Just like how the MIX verb was recently changed to take a quantity, it would be wonderful if HARVEST (for Herbs) worked the same way. Specifically, HARVEST 10 GALINGALE would leave you off-balance exactly as long as HARVEST GALINGALE 10 times. Advantages: less spam on my screen; less processing on the server (since it's just one command and no need to keep finding and incrementing the group size on the group of galingale in hands); fully backward compatible. Disadvantages: you can more easily harvest inside choke...

What damage type players do is already well known. Just check the ABs!

Did you mean the dmg type that mobs do? You can usually tell by reading the line for their attack, but this something to clearly state it has been brought up by players before, plenty of times probably.

Report #516 Skillset: Hunting Skill: New
Guild: Harbingers Status: Rejected Dec 2010
Problem: Problem: Ecologists learn the ability to create charms protecting from various damage types,
but they have know way of knowing what types of damage denizens/monsters do apart from the attack
messages, which are often not clear. It seems fitting that a solution for this problem would have a
place in hunting, which offers other abilities to help one discern the lay of the land or manipulate
animals, further it could use some more general utility when compared to totems/rituals.

Solution #1: A new ability in hunting which, for 2p, will display 1 type of damage that a creature
does (meaning people will have to use the ability multiple times one 1 type of creature to get the
full picture). -- Appending to note that Sior has already said this is not easily doable, leaving it
here as it's been mentioned in comments.
Solution #2: A new ability in hunting which, for 5+p, will put up a limited duration defense during
which the damage types will be revealed for all damage taken from creatures- basically just a line
following the damage line indicating the type, similar to aff messages.
Solution #3: - incorporate either of these solutions, with associated power costs, into the stalk
ability, for non-adventurer (mob only) targets, leaving stalk as-is for player targets.

Player Comments:
---:
Having a clear definite source on damage types would be nice. Although I'd say it should probably
be a generally available ability in Discernment. Any of these solutions sound okay.
---:
I dunno, this seems a little gimmicky. Perhaps add a line similar to the magictome "Your magictome
warms as it absorbs damage." so an ecologist can find out what kinds of damage a denizen deals
through trial and error.
---:
Okay, after a long conversation, it turns out I'm just unobservant and missed solution 2... that
would be fine, but I feel solution 1 is a little impractical.
---:
Solution 2, to take into account attacks with multiple damagesources. Does it really need to be that
power-intensive? It's not like it really helps much, apart from satisfying curious minds.
---:
My rationale for a heavy power cost is that it is permanent information, in that once you use it on
a type of mob, you won't have to again unless you forget. If it seems high, by all means bring it
down if implemented!
---:
It's just occurred to me that although it's nice to know what damage types we're being hit with, if
it's permanent info, would this end up an unused ability after we know the types? (Not that Hunting
isn't filled with underused stuff already. Cluck like a chicken! Catch that trout!)
---:
I think it depends on the player. If it's someone who is already leveled up and now only hunts a
couple of areas, they'll use it less. For newer players and any players who are regularly exploring
the game world and finding new areas to hunt, it'll be consistently useful throughout the life of a
character. There are so many areas to bash, and so many different mobs in the game, as well as new
areas that open from time to time, that I don't see it as losing its potential usefulness. It might
not be an 'every day' skill like camouflage and pathfinding, but it'll probably get more use than
the skills you mentioned and a few others.
Furies' Decision:
We do not find this to be necessary.
