Just gag the lines?

Gag the lines. I'll be most displeased if I have to choose between my shiny phoenix feathers or my newly formed sun.

You know what Lusternia needs? Pet fighting.

I'll send you an invite to World of Warcraft if you need a pet fighting fix.

But... Lusternia is better than WoW... just without the pet fighting.

I still say pet catching/lassoing rodeos at wayfaire. You tame it, you keep it ;)

That sounds like alot of gags to add because curios werent limited. Just make TOUCH be like ACTIVATE in that you can only have one active at a time. Want 2? make it an arty to allow a second (for Viynain).
Enyalida2012-09-08 19:31:46
The idea behind making a config to config off viewing them was to not limit how many people (like Viynain) can have on, but to also allow people who are connecting form places like the web client to not have to get spammed, and not have to be able to code the gags themselves, as easy as it may be.
Xiel2012-09-08 20:38:24
I approve of a config option, if it could be done!

You mean like ... miniature battles?

It seems like it would be doable to have only one active ambient curio on a player if it was a character-specific variable rather than a curio-specific one. Ie, touch curio sets your character's curio variable to whatever the curio you touched is, rather than toggling the curio message on/off for that item.
Another possibility is to just make ambient curios far less likely to fire. Similar result in the end with a much simpler implementation.

At the moment they just fire once every hour, so not randomly. That doesn't sound excessive unless people have lots active.

Instead of saying "You have been invited to clan X", say "PERSON has invited you to join clan X".
It's frustrating when you get an invite and you have no idea who is inviting you or what you're joining.

Snakes in a snakepit should have a chance to wrap around (follow) the person who falls in. So when you get out of the snakepit you have a snake or two on you still. This would make the trans skill more worth using. People could just lose the snakes to get rid of them or kill them.

Beasts could whine or something to say they're hungry about a minute before they starve to death. I always feel guilty when my wyvern keels over.

This is something that would see better results from the Envoy process rather than the simple ideas thread. Feel free to suggest it to your Envoy!

Alternatively, a new enchantment that automatically removes a feed from your rift and feeds your beast on day change, if you have a beast out.
Enyalida2012-09-16 18:34:50
Alternately, a combo tailoring/enchanting thing that makes a magical feedbag. They create the sack, enchanters enchant it, just like decks. You have it in your inventory, and you put in a type of feed and it automatically refills from the rift with feed when it goes empty. Your beast can eat from that when it's at the staring level, feeding it. However, it could have a lossrate of feed. If you keep track of it by hand, you're using 100% of the feed, but for every 4 feed that the bag fills with, it takes an extra fifth.
Lehki2012-09-17 00:03:12
Or you could make a trigger for the date changing over that outrifts and places feed in the bag. That is what I did after my first beast starved to death and I never worried about my beast starving again.
