A way to see your dormant skills outside of SKILLCHOICE LIST since that option is only open when you have something left to choose would be dandy.

I BUGged that it doesn't show you the list when you have nothing to choose and also asked if it would show you if you have an ACTIVATE available to you.

Have you transed all the trade skills already?!?! I've yet to learn my first one!

I've got artisan and tinkering to trans, and I learned a lot of bookbinding... not sure how much, actually. I had a divine favor, so I went as far as I needed to get the tome, and then stopped. (If I have to go back to make another tome, I will have to finish transing it.) That's all. I only plan to do one more, and that only after my design gets submitted (next game year) and then approved.
But you don't have to be transed to not have any skillchoices and thus not be able to see the list of your flexed-into-dormancy skills.

Yes please. This makes me feel so paranoid otherwise.
Must resist temptation to collect more tradeskills.

Gotta Trans'Em All?
Xiel2010-04-19 03:18:08
Totally.

REMOVE SHRUBS from allies and enemies lists.
Also for clans.

It actually makes me chuckle to see shrubs on my enemy list. Except that they count against 30 limit.

You can UNENEMY SHRUB and it'll take the first shrub on your list. Not sure if there's anything similar for UNALLY or CLAN DISCHARGE though.

I thought you were joking when you wrote this, but I tried it and... lol.

Change the short description of a powerstone when it is not at 100%. This would be helpful both in personal inventories and in shops. I hate hearing from newbies they've bought powerstones that turn out to be 0% full, because they didn't know to probe them in the shop. (That lesson seems to only be learned after one has been burned.)
Felicia2010-04-21 15:55:54
Shopping procedures in general seem to be a neglected area of newbie instruction, and PR is probably the single most important thing to know. It applies not only to powerstones but also to enchanted greatrobes, cloaks and coats, scrolls, enchanted jewelry, food (I learned my PR and preservation lesson simultaneously from five portions of food turning to dust, thus getting off light), filled potion vials, and any item with a decay timer, which is almost everything.
Whether Talan's powerstone idea is implemented or not, it might help to mention PR in the "newbie supplies" HELP file for guilds and cities Lusternia-wide.
I believe I had been trying LOOK and EX , neither of which work in shops, if I recall correctly.

Simple idea:
Perhaps reading HELP files shouldn't break meditation.
It's easy enough to work around, as one can simply type CHELP DIRECTIONS;MEDITATE or toggle a trigger that sends the MEDITATE command whenever the "snap your head up" message appears.
But HELP files don't really affect anything at all, so I wonder why we even have to do that to begin with.

What how can you meditate and actively read to educate yourself?
Get realistic!

You mean as opposed to simultaenously holding and alternately smoking three pipes, eating herbs, applying salves, juggling and sipping from twenty vials, reading scrolls, removing and replacing dozens of items from three different satchels, and dashing about to and fro whilst also fighting furiously with a sword and shield, or playing the Lusternian version of Toccatta and Fugue on a violin? All the while carrying 30 orc corpses?

When someone siphons on an aethership, let there be a message visible to others on the ship. Not only helps deal with people with errant siphon triggers, but also lets the pilot/crew know that siphoning is happening even if an aetherbeast isn't immediately popping up.
