This is where Notepad comes in handy. You can put more consideration into a post and get it down correctly before throwing it on the news board.

I generally suggest something with spell check capability - MS Word or Writer from Open Office. Both allow you to add to the built-in dictionary, so you can even check Lusternia words.

Disclaimer: Certain clients dislike punctuation from Microsoft Word. MUSHClient doesn't seem to have any trouble but for others pasting into Notepad and then into the game's editor, or from Word to the Mudbot editor if you have it, will fix the problem.

As much as I am a stickler for grammar, if someone's going to make a mistake, let them make it in an IC news post. biggrin.gif

The in-game editor automatically wordwraps that stuff? That's my problem. I'm trying to fit each line on there properly, and it takes a bit of work to make it not look like crap, and then when I finally got to the end of the post I got excited, double entered where I wanted a blank line (but I didn't clear it), so I end up with a duplicate line, that I didn't doublecheck before I *save. Not a HUGE deal, but still. After all that work making it look nice, to have a mistake like that makes me sad.gif

I'm going to be twice as sad if I've just been making it twice as hard for myself as it needs to be. I miss the automatic notepad editor of my old client.

The in-game editor auto-wraps, yes.

If you want a notepad-style editor that you can paste into and then send to the game, I suggest getting Mudbot. Configure it, connect to Lusternia through it, and then when you're in the in-game editor, you can just type in `edit, if I remember correctly. A new window will pop up.

Put each paragraph on a single line and send that file (or simply copy/paste) and the in-game editor will wrap it beautifully.

This. I had a problem a bit with things getting leftout (I think it had to do with command stacking) but I just hopped onto Nexus. The editor there is beautiful for editing existing scrolls.

Config damage_change, balance_taken, and experience_change from Aetolia would be awesome to have here. For those who don't know it tells you how much damage you took and the type, how much balance you use when using abilities, and how much exp you gain.

Geomancers should have some kind of ability early on that lets them magically scale mountains. Aquamancers can dive, after all, and aeromancers can fly. Something like... 'geocast ascend', and the rock forms itself into stairs beneath your feet.

And pyro's can... what, walk on coals and not die in lava?
Esano2010-02-10 16:03:55
Geomancers can already burrow. Scaling would be nice, but unnecessary.

I do wish that the elemental movements other than Water had effects outside of their respective elemental planes - one immunity should be all immunities!

We had earthquakes on Prime during an event, but yeah, the waves thing is superior.

Yeah... no.
Unknown2010-02-12 12:58:27
Why not? I mean, how's that different from having a shield rune on your staff and a tome in your other hand? Besides it making it easier for you to hop orgs.
Unknown2010-02-12 13:01:37
The tome already absorbs damage, right? So, you basically just want to parry/stun with it.

Yeah, yeah.

Maybe the suggestion was really to help out the warrior bookbinder... oh, wait.
