at $20 apiece, I wouldn't exactly call clanslots 'cheap'...
Unknown2010-02-15 02:19:56
$20? Not US dollars...
And, yes, they are very cheap.

If this ever happens, the next thing to happen will be that if you control an opposing village, you cannot enter the village at all during the revolt.

It's already harder to do; isn't this enough of a handicap?

POLITICS would say that it's not, no.

Then start doing something about it. It's not as if Glom has some overwhelming advantage that other cities/communes lack. Just organize, spread the favors around, and work at it. Heck, when half of the guilds (I think?) in the cities have a way to actively heal someone elses ego, you're likely in a better position than Glom.
And this time you can't blame the Death domoth either.

Maybe someone should actually contest Glomdoring in one village so that it's not a 3/4/5 way deadlock in the other village until Glomdoring finishes with their village and zergs the second village.

Glom actually fought with Mag (I think it was) in Stewartsville for an hour before moving on to Delport. Mag did basically leave after the first half hour or so though, yeah.
EDIT: And as for Zerging, I actually did a headcount from one of my scents during the influencing. In that one I could sense 8 Gloms (although I know there were at least two more) versus 26 non-Glom. So we were actually at a numerical disadvantage.

SHADOWDANCE PENUMBRA + Faeling Demigods + Chaos Domoth + 2 TAs + Krellan's ENDLESS EGO
This time, you honestly had a strong advantage in numbers, and your big hitters were working well together. But if it hadn't been for that slight edge, Celest had enough of a lead that it should have ended the other way.
and the 8 glom vs 26 non gloms is a bit of a strawman, since of those, only the Celestians stood a chance, and only a handful of those could actually influence. And only one or two can debate worth his salt (I am not one of these)

Instead of the Penumbra and Chaos Domoth, you have Laetita, Populus and Fortuna for about half of the citizens as well as most, if not all, of you having Highmagic giving another boost in Charisma.
As for Faeling demigods, nothing prevents you from having those. You can also have Elfen, Imperial/Seasinger Merians, Tae'dae and Trill which is only one charisma less.
EDIT: In fact, I think an Imperial/Seasinger Merian is better, since they also get an EQ-bonus.
Can't really say much about Krellan's ego (which is huge in every way) and the TAs, since it's hard to copy those, but they're hardly insurmountable obstacles.

You lot shoo with your revolt dramallamas from the pretty thread. -cling ideas-
<--wants Air/Fire plane rings/upgrades, please. Oh, and cheaper submissions. And that thing about cartels not taking up clan slots (considering it's fair poo that I had to get another 2 clanslots to join 2 more cartels today (mini-rave for Pectus goes..here), but it's understandable from a business perspective why they'd retain it so, really).
As for another one of my random contributions/random bump for another idea: would that 'different messages to reflect current/changing health for bashing denizens/people' be considered a simple idea? -twiddle-

I'm pretty sure that equilibrium bonuses don't count towards influence or debating. Just charisma.

Novices really should be given a herb bag when they greet the herb-quest giving denizen.

The idea that the amount harder it should be should be cranked up considerably has been commonly consensus since that "it's harder" factor was put in, though I expect that in the current political climate that consensus is likely to be disputed (retroactively, given who else is in this thread). Nevertheless, it's harder, but not much harder, and it should be a fair bit harder. (And when Serenwilde controlled 80% of the villages, Serens were still saying that then, yadda yadda yadda.)

Oh, what we also need is something like a practice debating thing! Like you won't be shattered for 10 minutes. It would help so much so you can teach novices. To teach combat, we have arenas! But nothing for debating

Is it possible to just debate in the arena? Or are you looking for a "practice" flag or something?
