Except you earn so much gold in Newton you can easily afford greatrobes. Not sure what the costs of plate and such are, though, but Newton nets 25k gold or something on average?

Heh.. if only that covered plate. Plate is silly expensive, as are weapons.
Aerotan2010-11-26 13:01:08
So far, seems like plate is 50K and helms are 15. The weapon is still the priority, though, so unless your guild has a program to assist with equipment, Newton's just doesn't cover starting Warriors
Gleip2010-11-26 13:02:37
I would suggest throwing that as a skill in knighthood, except the idea is utterly ridiculous and is unneccessarily rough on knight novices. Knights haveit bad enough before they get masterweapons.
Calixa2010-11-26 13:22:03
50k? Right, I said nothing, that's quite the difference >_<

Actually, with the armour, the helm, and the master weapon, that can run closer to 90 for two-handers. Higher for one-handers, I think (two handers tend to be about 45, while one-handers are 25ish).

In an unrelated skein/flash of brilliance, can it be made so that the solstice gnomes render their presents to those who do the BEG emote, rather than winning a charity battle, and have a successful 'beg' strip eq to counter it. It just seems to me like forcing players to out-charity each other only favours the omni-trans, who can influence a gnome in one or two shots, whereas if it's set to an emote, some of that is mitigated, since now even newbies can do it and have the same amount of success as the omnitrans demi with a rune of charity, more tattered rags than a Soviet bread line, sandalwood, a beast set for charity, and with more ego than the Illithoid prison combined.

Likewise, randomizing the gnome spawn points would take more of the weight off of those who already know where they pop down to the room number. (both of these sets include me, as an aside. I have some not-insignificant bonuses in charity influences, and am familiar enough to get at least one present per set, assuming I'm fast enough.) It just seems to me that something as nice as the gnomes should be an event that everyone can benefit from, not just a rich-get-richer scheme.

How about they just give people their presents? Why do they have to begged from before giving out presents? Doesn't that goes against the spirit of giving?

Idea: Add in another tier just for alts.

I must have done something wrong in Newton! I never made that much.

Dia had it right. Plate is 50k. Weapons are another 75k. Helm is another 10-15k.
Arath2010-11-26 22:52:58
And no, they're not even joking. Being a templar is rough when your city has never held any metal producing villages.

You can get those for much cheaper if you know where to look. ninja.gif

EDIT: I will also add a big fat NO! for armour limits being assigned to guild rank. Guild rank is fine for being kept to RP mostly and not having strong mechanics attached into it. We don't need to roll that into the meta-game too. If we want to make guilds more interesting, though, I would be for allowing GA to assign what guild privs are available at which ranks/positions apart from GM/GC...

Should be a tier for people dropping in level and thus ending with high points in a lower tier to go with that. laugh.gif

That too. Either move them into their own tier, or leave them in the tier they started off in. Though I do want to keep it having people move up tiers.

Agreed. While this case wasn't intentional, it is pretty easy to game if one would want to.

I have exactly the same issue.

Skillflex to a new trade skill!

If that got me divine favors, I'd be swimming in them; I skillflex pretty much every weave!
