o FirstAid has now been introduced - see AB DISCERNMENT FIRSTAID. It is,
in effect, a player system that activates only on the use of Firstaid,
which in itself is diagnose plus the curing.

o Diagnose has been lowered in Discernment.

Enjoy!

Absolutely fantastic. However, isn't the skill meant primarily to help true-novices? If so, I think it should be moved as low in the skillset as possible, perhaps just after diagnose.

It is impossible to state how much I <3 this.

Is this the same balance as Diagnose? Also, I realize this isn't a "system" but will it respect octave in respects to aurics?

It makes you use actual cures, not just cure things.

They still require the actual cures. Firstaid is now located where Diagnose used to be. A novice should be able to get to this very quickly.

It's a little longer than diagnose and it now respects octave and won't try curing horehound affs in octave. Forgot about this when making - if anything like this is noticed, just BUG it.

How does it deal with locks? I am assuming it is not going to auto use green or the like.

Actually..... suspicious.gif

It checks if you have the skill and power, and will green/gedulah if need be. It should get out of locks. It should even handle this in aeon or sap. I think I missed a few cases which should be remedied as the skill is tested more.

I'm guessing this is just straight basic curing with herbs, nothing complicated.

Never mind, I've been ninja'd. Nice. Does it cure decently in choke? suspicious.gif
Does it cure vessels?

As for choke, not yet - but it's likely coming soon!

I checked the vessel curing. Unless I'm mistaken, it tries to cure with sparkle. If you don't have sparkle, it remembers it and goes right to sipping health.

It doesn't seem to jump immediately with other cures. I didn't have melancholic but was dizzy, but it didn't try to eat kombu. Should this be bugged or is it intentional?

As of right now it doesn't check if you have the cures, and assumes you have them in your rift or in your inventory. This may change at a future time if it really is a nuisance.

I would love if this was optional. Say if you did FIRSTAID NOPOWER or something.

Definitely going to have to play around with this though, I had no idea it was so extensive.

It doesn't seem to use healing powers, but I could be mistaken. I carry no herbs, or most potions, since I'm almost trans healing, and I asked to be afflicted, used firstaid, and it didn't seem to use any of my healing powers.
Veyrzhul2010-01-26 20:00:54
Hmm wow, is this basically supposed to become a complete server-side curing system off diagnosis minus wound curing and sipping? That would be nifty!

Yes.

Healers should still have all the proper cures, as Healing is more of an augmentation or extension thing.

I think nopower should be the default, and the player asks it to use green/gedulah with a FIRSTAID POWER syntax. Just to be safe, y'know?
Gleip2010-01-26 20:25:02
Would you want, in the middle of combat, to remember that, in order to get out of the current Truelock, you need to type FIRSTAID POWER instead of regular FIRSTAID? I mean, from what I gather, it'll only Green/Ged if you're Truelocked.
