So.. what do you actually -look- for in a system?

GAG CLOT ON/OFF
GAG SIP ON/OFF
GAG HERBBALANCE ON/OFF
GAG SALVEBALANCE ON/OFF

Stuff like that. I know that once I have a system going, watching balances come back every few seconds is extra spam I might want to gag, clotting usually always, stuff that I trust the system to handle for me. If I feel I need to know, I turn it back on. Not hard to code yourself, but having it included would be a nice perk.

Oh sure! That's easy. I had planned to actually have herb/salve/etc. balances shown as a sort of light-up option on the affliction list, at the top. Balance on, it's the same color as the afflictions which are cured using that balance, balance off and it's greyed out. Doing this, I'd likely gag the balance messages. But having them be configurable on/off shouldn't be hard. I dunno if that'll make it into the first alpha or not, but consider it accepted =)

I had it crammed into Ciaran's old one too:

Oh the days of yesteryear.

While we're at it, here's Thorgal's system:

Amaru's:

Soulafein's:

I'm a big fan of minimalist systems, but the first ones there I could deal with. Soulafein's would drive me crazy, though.

That's all very pretty, and I'll likely be leaving hooks in my stuff so if someone really wants that kind of UI they can skin around the system. I may even document it. but first I have to get it out there.

I'm looking for a dynamic list of afflictions that I currently have. And I would like the list to be clickable, so in case I panic or my system bugs out, I can click on the affliction I want to manually cure.

Pipedream? Maybe..

Well, clickable affliction lists are potentially doable, once mxp support is in mudlet. The issue is, if the system's bugging out, it might be difficult to use a part of the system for manual curing like that. but I'll keep it in mind and see what I can work out. =)
Vesar2010-02-23 02:29:46
Yes, I had thought about that, but I would assume the clickable functions would just be quick and easy manual aliases "outr herb, eat herb." A real panic button.

Anti-Karma Association? Damn, that was like forever and a half ago.

Man, remember when Karma mattered?
