Ok, but things to keep in mind about dreamweaving for the newbies; memoryloss is severely weakened when embedded as compared to flicked. Motes cannot be flicked at blacked out opponents, so embedding memoryloss makes affliction tricky. Blackout doesn't stack anymore. I'm not sure if embedded motes hit blacked out opponents, but I think they do. Embedded motes can't be timed with demesne effects - the first tick has a random timer added to it. You can embed multiple motes, but only one hits every tick, chosen at random from the motes embeded. With Control, you are immune to sleep attacks, like morphite. This is awesome. However, you are still vulnerable to dominate sleep and stupidity sleep if insomnia is stripped, as well as exhaustion from other dreamweavers, so watch out for that. We do not have an instakill. (What does he mean, no instakill? There's eternalsl...) WE DO NOT HAVE AN INSTAKILL. Embedding takes a ton of willpower. Making motes takes a ton of willpower. Dreamform actually does not take a ton of willpower, but any action you take while in dreamform will. You can't fight while in dreamform. Dreamform is incredibly buggy, never use the link skill because it will get you killed. If I think of anything else, I'll add it later.

Thanks for the tips!
It's strange to me that a relatively old skill (I mean... I was still an Aquamancer when it was released) can still be as buggy as it is. What happened to the envoy and special report process?
If Dreamweaving is indeed as buggy as everyone claims, the admin should request a special report on it and we an get it working properly again.
I can understand about the instakill. Just reading it makes me question why it was even put in in the first place...

Eternal Sleep is the instant kill which is right before possess, it requires to have 50 percent or under mana and maximum tiredness level. Recently it was changed so it could be done out of dreambody, not sure if I had anything to do with that :/ ive been saying that it should work like that for sometime now.(once we get our mana attack if we get one, having eternalsleep outside of dreambody will be viable)

Wot? Yes you can.

No you're immune to that too.

You help other people fight by spamming void and deepsleep.Lehki2010-02-21 23:41:31
whoops, double post.

Oh on a related note I tested blackout/twirlstaff and the twirlstaff doesn't get cured in the blackout. Sure it's hard to do though, you have to time the blackout with your meld and the twirl staff with the meld.

Ack, Lehki is right. I guess I was thinking of puncturing auras. That can't be done while the target is blacked out or asleep. Point still stands, memoryloss makes afflicting tricky.
I know I've gotten at least one dreamweaver to fall asleep from exhaustion with deepsleep. Maybe they weren't using control?
And Dy, I was making a joke. Eternalsleep is impossible to pull off, so you might as well pretend that it doesn't exist. Anyone that you can kill with it will go down a lot easier by casting claws and letting them bleed out while they sleep, because they don't have a combat system.

Wot? Person being blackouted does not stop any afflictions, what are you talking about? If somebody is asleep, you don't even need to puncture, you can flick motes at them freely.
And they must not have been using control for some reason.

The special report was done in August of 2008.
There were a lot of bugfixes to dreamweaving done in the past year by one of our coders. If more arise they should be BUGged so they can be looked into by the proper people.

Hey, thanks for the response! I'll definitely take a look and see what's up with the skillset. I'll be sure to bug anything I see. Hopefully the reports of bugs are inflated!

One thing that I have noticed which does not allow Dreamweaving to be on par with Psionics is that you can't stack attacks like Psionics. I.E. you can't weave an illusion while dreamcasting, whereas with Psionics, you can dissolve, weave an illusion, and still use all three psionic channels in the same attack.

I found an interesting bug with regards to Link.
I BUGGED it in game, I hope something can come up it! I'll let you know if I find any more.

Nothing new. This one has been around for a while. That and not being able to see or hear what's going on in the room that your dream body is, yet curiously being able to see movement in the room your real body is in. I've bugged them multiple multiple times. Maybe if we keep bugging it, it'll get more attention. It gets fixed occasionally, but never for more than a few hours.
Someone mentioned that it probably has to do with how the rapture engine tracks where you are. Normally it just has to track one body, but when you're dreamweaving it has to track two: technically you're in two places at once.
I just recently forgot Dreamweaving, even though I love the idea of it to death (I mean, look at my sig) because it just doesn't work like it should.
Felicia2010-05-13 08:26:19
I love the idea of Dreamweaving, too. It's the most conceptually attractive skill set out there, in my opinion.
If it's ever fixed properly, I might be tempted to change careers for it alone.

Luckily there is skillflex. I have recently temporarily forgotten Dreamweaving. Hopefully it will be fixed, but until then it is only a frivolous novelty.

I would definitely go back. In a heart beat.
