Er, it wasn't rejected. It's nigh close to impossible to get double amputates now (which was part of my original post suggesting it should be viewed in light of the latest envoy reports!).
Aha, indeed. Confused it with the Aeromancy report!

I stand corrected.
Well, partially.

Ok, so Pyromancy has both asthma and slickness. They also have amputation at whatever level of burns. Make it 200th level degree burns, the point is, it has it. Also, they have burns.
So, they have way to slow you down on curing, they have a way to redirect your curing from burns to amputation, and they can work on their insta-kill with this. Again, in order to function you need to apply a salve to your amputated limb, which is also what you need to stop pyromancers from killing you.
Did I mentioned that since Pyros are Mages they get psionics (Which is really good)?
How is this even remotely balanced? You have a skill that auto leads you to its win condition and you can also passively hinder your enemy at the same time. Geomancers don't do it. Aquamancers don't do it. Aeromancers don't do it. Hell, Druids don't do it.

Not only that, but unless I'm mistaken Aeromancy doesn't even have an instakill.

So, we are complaining because a Demesne can actually kill someone? Is that it? Or are we bitching about how you could just walk out of the Demesne, heal up the burns/burnt off limbs and come back?
I am sorry that a 5% chance for amputates is considered a bit too much, but just maybe they wanted something that wouldn't be laughed at by 98% of the gaming population, I.E. a druid meld.

Hi, just saying. Maybe they wanted something you had to pay attention for, just like with choke when you have to watch out for the shadows getting popped out of the cauldron. And a 5 percent chance on the first Demesne tick, sounds like just bad luck to me.

Firebreather, Aliod Feyranti
It's funny how when things are OP, the people who use them don't recognize it or argue for it being fine.

This works both ways, you know that right? Just like how if you were to suddenly say that choke was OP, every Night user would come thundering in with pitch forks and torches, or if you were to say that the new stuff in Sacraments was OP, you'd have the same reaction. Like I said before, it just seems like bad luck.

That may well be, but it doesn't make it any less OP.

You do realize that druid demesnes are hated by just about everyone in the game, right?

A rolling wave of fire sweeps over you.
Your flesh is charred, and you receive first degree burns.
Your skin and lips crack amid this parching heatwave.
Your flesh is charred, and you receive second degree burns.
Your flesh burns as a sheet of shimmering fire envelops you.
Your flesh is charred, and you receive second degree burns.
You are swarmed by several burning salamanders, setting you ablaze.

A ball of wild fire smashes into you, searing your flesh.

Liquid fire rains down on you, broiling your flesh.
Your flesh is charred, and you receive third degree burns.
You begin to sweat profusely in this sweltering heat.
You breathe in some black ashes and then begin coughing hoarsely.

Aliod2010-02-19 05:15:04
You mean because of the massive amounts of hindering it can throw up with briar walls, tree bane, raise cudgel, sap, entangle?
And you guys are complaining about two skills that fired in the first rotation? Still confused.

If Pyromancy is not deemed broken by the admins, I would say, keep things as is, but give every mage spec. abilities up to par.

The latter kind of needs to come before the former, no? In fact, I do believe I've heard you can't tumble if you're amputated. Neat, huh?
Xiel2010-02-19 05:36:09
You can't even tumble out which is a pain in itself. Aliod, you know as well as I do how tweaky an amputate in one passive hit is.
