Spawned... 7 in first minute smile.gif And use forcefield people. Seriously.

I gave up after people kept shooting and breaking forcefield even though they were told not to. As to spawning 7 in the first minute... I believe you were hunting elementals, not dragons?
Razenth2010-02-25 04:14:34
If you're spawning vortices or looking for ships, use forcefield. Please. Slivvens can be taken out with one level 85+ who has the lines. Green tea + quicksilver = no paralysis or aeon. Diag on chary line = 1s delay and no need to worry about being hit by random affs. Just get rid of life leech. ninja.gif

Well then maybe you should've been hunting elementals too! One hour of hunting them is surely better than 1.5 hours of hunting nothing. Anyways, looks like Estarra is on that little pickle, so next time you guys should have a much easier time.

And the people shooting thing sounds like bad crew discipline, not any problem on part of the game design. Teach crew not to shoot or gust them off!

Right... and I was supposed to know that dragons were going to be screwy in advance? Don't be a troll.

Uh... I don't see the trolling there?

Aetherhunting is no longer fun.... Damn slivvens ruining my fun!

It was actually kind of fun and much more interesting.

Comments:
1) Light damage on the chair could probably be a whole lot less debilitating than it is (it's "light damage," why does it have such a negative impact on chair balance?)
2) Slivvens may be spawning just a bit too quickly. We had a person pretty much permanently unlocked tracking them down.
- Problem: The person unlocked gets no experience for doing this since slivvens are, essentially, worth nothing. And, while hunting them, they're not getting aetherbeast experience.
- Solution: Make slivvens worth a lot more experience so the people hunting them get something, or let us designate 1-2 people on the ship as "slivven exterminators"-- they would have to go to a weapons locker (new module you buy) and do a MODULE EQUIP or some such. Limited number of people can do this. While they are equipped they get experience just as if they were locked into a module. (This could also give a slight bonus in killing slivvens too, if you wanted).

(I want my space marines, darnit!)

Aeon from not attacking slivvens causing me to grid modules way too much, causing me to be autolocked out of Lusternia. This has not been a good few hours >>
Doman2010-02-25 06:47:21
Yeah. With a full crew, it is impossible to hunt because of slivvens. To get a full crew working, you need AT LEAST 1 demigod going through and killing them to keep up with attacks, you need empath triggers to know WHERE they are, and you need to be able to survive their room attacks, or worse, not get aeon on the captain's chair or the grid
Xavius2010-02-25 07:06:35
Quicksilver, ahoy?
Doman2010-02-25 07:08:32
Yes, because the fact that you can avoid one of the many problems fixes the whole issue, ahoy?

I think there are good arguments on the thread. Yours (and those making the same argument), no. Sip health, have a plan, use quicksilver.
Kante2010-02-25 07:22:44
I'm level 82. I don't even have triggers for slivven and I can handle them. They're not difficult, they're just annoying.

Though, I think I see a new age of profit in my future. cool.gif

edit: Does anyone have the aeon aff line for these buggers, by the way?
Razenth2010-02-25 07:24:45
Yeah, I really don't buy the whole OMG SLIVVENS! arguement. :\\

People always overreact (myself included, see my post a page or so back).

Like I said, they're easy enough to kill if you're 80+. However, I do think their spawn rates need to be tinkered with (provided they haven't been, already).
Daedroth2010-02-25 07:41:44
Well I'll be missing an entire day of aetherhunting with double xp because of these changes. None of the crews I know are going up it seems. confused.gif

It's looking like I've wasted lessons transing aethercraft...
Rika2010-02-25 07:48:42
Oh noes. I transed aethercraft expecting to get free demi from it and now I can't anymore.

I'm level 78 and handling them just fine with manual quicksilver and firstaid.

I'm also not really noticing too many of them. Not on the hunt I'm on, at least. Maybe other people have it worse.

The main problem isn't from experienced aetherhunters, the main problem is when you get on those shabby-ass crews from Pirates of the Hearth.

I know this one from experience.

Incentive to get better!

'Weakness must be eliminated in all its forms: Physical, Mental, and Spiritual.'

...wait, wrong game.

EDIT: Really, though, if you're throwing together crews entirely at random, what do you expect?
