I'm trying to figure out why I have to get enemied to gnomes for "free" lessons. Paying gold to rectify enemy status is not free!
I'm vociferous about my dislike of enemy status, but at least there is a quick, easy way out of these.
I'll give you 15 lessons, if you remove my status with Viravain!

Alas, that one will take apologizing for raiding.

I have no problem apologizing, but I didn't raid.

FalseMemory says you did!

As if FalseMemory would remember something like that.

Except that he was 1) In Glomdoring, 2) Attacking a Glomdoring member.
No need for False Memory. Doesn't matter why he was there, he was there doing so.
And I thought he (finally) understood that after our little chat. If you're in an opposing org attacking one of their members, you're... raiding.

Baloney.

Yeah, bologna. If that person attacked Serenwilde and then immediately ran home when challenged, my pursuit isn't what I would define as a raid. I stood in Ethereal Glomdoring for all of 20 seconds, hit him about four times and he moved, so I decided he wasn't worth it and left. "Woo! Raid!" ... not.

Sorry, going into enemy org territory and attacking someone / something is a primary example of a raid. It doesn't matter why you were doing it, all that matters is that you did go do it. If I walk into Serenwilde and kick Abeytu, I'm raiding. Does it matter if you just barely kicked Rowena? No. Now, I might feel justified in kicking Abeytu, but that doesn't change the fact that I was raiding.
Further, it's the same for every org, including Serenwilde. Unless you want to go through your enemy lists and unenemy people, heh.

You're missing the key part of the point, though. I "kicked" someone who felt it is perfectly acceptable to kick-and-run, like you get home and tag your nexus and we can't hurt you any more. This same individual also feels justified in summoning the weaker members of an organization into Etherglom to kill them much more easily. So, yeah, I won't apologize. If anything, I'd go the other direction, metaphorically speaking.
(Sorry to bystanders for the massive derailing.)

You can't summon people into EtherWilde or EtherGlom.
Unknown2010-03-02 12:55:11
You can if they aren't enemied!

PS: Nexus Distort stops summoning out by enemies, now.
And that's what I am asking. Where do you draw the line? We chase Lehki into Ethereal Serenwilde all the time. The moment we do, guess what happens?
Serenwilders come up to Ethereal to (gasp) defend. Do they care that we're chasing Lehki? No. They come up because of enemies in Ethereal Serenwilde, who are attacking.
You yourself came in, attacked, and fled the moment someone else showed up (sound familiar? I'm sure it does). You did so in enemy organization territory, where you were already enemied to Glomdoring. Now you're upset that you're getting called for it.
PS: Unenemy Albiorix to Serenwilde. He was enemied in the first place for chasing Lehki in. He obviously was not raiding!
Zallafar2010-03-02 13:05:59
You can enemy people for any reason or no reason. Just don't expect people to respect you calling it 'raiding'.
And a question: what are people's artifact rune placement strategy? All on one piece of jewelry, or each on its own piece of jewelry, or what?

Sure, I can. The fact remains that I did enemy him for raiding (entering Ethereal Glomdoring and attacking someone). At which point I had to go up to (horror!) defend.
Further, if I was to go onto Celestia and attack you, Zallafar, I'm quite sure I would be enemied to Eventru for raiding as he defends Celestia. I am curious what you would call it, though. "Boyish antics"?
Edit: Why do I keep thinking Zallafar is Celestian? Heh.
Well, let's go with Maylea then. I'm an enemy of Maylea's because of ventures into Ethereal Serenwilde. Fix it please.

Still not raiding, but we obviously will have to agree to disagree. If Alacardael apologizes, I may follow suit.
Personally, I feel that enemy status should be earned through mechanics alone (i.e., I attacked something loyal to that organization) and take it out of the hands of the players.

PS: Alacardael is loyal to the Glomdoring.
He was attacked in EthGlom.
Mechanically, you'd still be enemied, heh. Assuming they made the conversion actually make sense. Otherwise we could just camp EthSeren all day long without becoming enemied if all we did was kill PCs.

Fine. You win. (I looked up 'raid' in a dictionary, so consider me the most dangerous sort of enemy now, an educated one.) Albiorix's status stands, too, though.
Edit: Wait... is Alacardael loyal to the Viravain, too? I'll gladly take my status with Glomdoring, but the guilds, orders, and Night not so much.
And, now, a question: does guild enemy status do anything in the slightest? Do guards summoned by that guild attack enemies?

Oh snap, I didn't know this was about me.
When a person enters enemy territory, regardless of whether it's to chase an initial raider or to raid himself, the said person is open to the defenders of the territory.
Anyways, I get teamed in Faethorn all the time. It just so happened that I had people to back me up during that one time.
EDIT to Zarq's edit: Nocht, Shadowdancers, Glomdoring.
Guild enemy is just a way for us to siphon your gold into our pockets. Guild guards attack commune/city enemies regardless of guild enemy status.

I fully expected Albiorix's status to stand, heh. I was simply offering it as a counter-point from the other side, in much the same situation.
Alacardael is allied to Viravain (her positive shrine effects work on him). Further, he's definitely loyal to Night (he's a Shadowdancer).
Finally, no, guild enemy status means pretty much nothing. At the same time, as I mentioned in our discussion, I did not enemy you to Ebonguard. I don't have any intention of doing so unless you fulfill a couple of certain requirements which you've shown no sign of doing as of yet. I prefer to keep Ebonguard enemies small and limited to those who actually did something to the guild.
