Only one set of mammaries! /extreme nitpick
...On second thought, hooray for creative reinterpretation of biological reality. All of the instances of the more proper multiple sets of mammaries have been quite... ill-considered.

Perhaps only two are developed. There are theories that with bipedalism, the rump could no longer be used as a sexual signal, so the breasts developed to fulfill the same function in a place more visible on a biped. If the same occured in something with more than two sets of mammaries, no reason all of them would have to be overdeveloped.
ongaku2010-05-24 06:19:53
With felines, that area normally isn't developed to the extent that it is on humans anyway. And as Sylphas said, I would imagine that, upon becoming bipedal, they might have one set that became more developed, while the others remained as they would on a normal feline (small and more or less hidden, unless pregnancy occurred).
More than one set of fully-developed mammaries looks odd to me anyway. I'd rather have an anthropomorph that had more human-like proportions in that regard.

Has there been any back up of this idea in the game mythos? If not, it could really, honestly go either way.
ongaku2010-05-25 02:56:10
I don't think there's anywhere in the lore that states how many children any one particular race may have at a time.
I'd really like to see people get together who are big fans of a particular race and come up with a sort of player-created biology and normal behavior for said race. We know very little outside of what's in help files and in-game villages. I honestly would like to see much more racial RP than I do now, considering race is a huuuuuge part of my RP (I never pick a race for its stats or how easy it would be to fight/level, only for RP).

I once read something on Aslaran sexuality on the old wiki. Curiosity got the better of me.

o_o I don't recall seeing anything like that. >.>
For the record, I didn't necessarily mean that either. XD Just seems like people are very unconcerned about race nowadays (except to keep a Furrikin brotha down! Though even that doesn't happen so much in Mag anymore).

It was on the old wiki that I helped contribute with. Not on the new one.

I'm pretty sure it's more like a tiny minority of aslaran have litters of 2-5, a more observable minority use the family system of one at a time, and the vast majority don't care either way.
This only matters if you're getting caught up on a picture of some felid thing that isn't even from Lusternia originally only having two breasts though.

You're just jealous 'cause you don't have a rack like that.

Dunno which guild.. But damn it looks cool.
Aqua VS Geo ( Though looking at their busts, they could probably just battle by jumping up and down)

The proportions of the girls in that second pic make me want to weep.
The first pic in that you posted though makes me think Cacophony.

I thought that too, but then I saw the trees so I dunno.. Maybe it's a Cacophone in Glom with who kept the skills?

Leviathan (aka Illith):
Also consider:
Alright... I think "flayer" and illithoid comparisons are unnecessary. However, check out the chain this beastie is carrying. Makes me think of a very untraditional jakari.

Pectus' first picture reminds me of Spiritsingers, with the rising ghost in front. At least, I thought 'ghost.'
And the first thing that comes to mind with Janalon's is "Cthulu."

But of course. The illithids of Dungeons and Dragons fame were inspired by Lovecraft's Star-spawn of Cthulhu.
