...
o FirstAid has been enhanced with several new abilities, most of which
is the capacity to use it without diagnosing to cure a self-managed
affliction queue.

...
Enjoy!

Penned by My hand on the 14th of Dvarsh, in the year 260 CE.

To reiterate: Holy *bleep* that's awesome! An example of the awesomeness:

QUOTE
firstaid add blindness
You have added blindness to the queue.
You believe yourself to have: BLINDNESS.

firstaid curequeue
You believe yourself to have: BLINDNESS.
* FirstAid Sending: outr 1 myrtle
You remove 1 myrtle, bringing the total in the rift to 443.
* FirstAid Sending: eat myrtle
You eat a bog myrtle leaf.

firstaid curequeue
You believe yourself to have: BLINDNESS.

You may eat or smoke another herb.

firstaid remove blindness
You have removed blindness from the queue.
You believe yourself to have: nothing.

EDIT: I hope it's not processor-intensive, because I'm going to use the heck out of this.
Unknown2010-03-22 13:28:01
Do you continue eating myrtle until you manually remove blindness from your queue then?
Ssaliss2010-03-22 13:29:27
You have to use FIRSTAID CUREQUEUE to actually try to heal the queue, so it won't spam myrtle. It's also easy enough to make it remove blindness from the queue if myrtle has no effect, so it's all good in my book!

EDIT: Although if I could request just one extra feature, it would be to be able to FIRSTAID ADD BLINDNESS DEAFNESS to add more than one affliction at a time. But even without it I'm putting up a shrine to you next to my computer.

Ah. I see now.

This does still require a bit of manual tracking, but at least the balances, cures, and priorities are handled for you. Less flexible, sure, but it was coded with some good sense, too.
Xavius2010-03-22 16:01:15
It pushes a fair amount of the timing and tracking off onto the server. This looks like enough to make Nexus a really viable client.

Hrm... I wonder if Timewarp and TemporaryInsanity are new afflicts coming out, sounds like the new Ritual specs. Timewarp is cured by Horehound and TemporaryInsanity by Pennyroyal.

This is just plain amazing. I do hope that the database of afflictions versus cures gets completed and remains maintained, though.

For example:

QUOTE
whatiscuredby focus spirit
There is no such cure "focus spirit" found in the database.

On the topic of Timewarp and Temporaryinsanity.. does that mean we get our Guardians this month after all? Please? :3

I squealed a little when I saw this. Unfortunately, I was at work and a student walked into my office right as I squealed. There goes that "mature adult professional professor" image I've been trying so hard to up-hold.

*eats another starburst*

biggrin.gif I'm home sick from work, so no one heard my squealing, fortunately.

"In bed, no one can hear you squealing. Unless you're lucky."

Some of the cures are not coded, but I'm sure they're on a to-do list somewhere.

Does anyone use FocusSpirit besides me, anyway? biggrin.gif

If I had it, Treant would have me using it twice a minute, I think. But I don't, and haven't gotten around to removing it again yet.
Major kudos for a cure queue though!

It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
Put your hands on your hips,
And bring your knees in tight.
But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane...

...I can't wait to see the affliction messages for TimeWarp.

suspicious.gif I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to be the one who said it. Heh heh.

I turned off auto focus spirit cures in treant and made a manual alias to set the affliction as needed, but I do use the skill.
Unknown2010-03-23 06:45:01
My mind is BLOWN.

So like... send("firstaid add " .. matches) and my system is now 50% done? O_o

If you wanted something basic, yes.
Unknown2010-03-23 07:22:47
Adding focus spirit could be potentially crippling, since then using the system might blow through all your mana when you didn't want it to?

The best thing to do would be to either not add it, or make the use of it a config option. I personally would be pleased if the use of focus mind was also a config option.
Unknown2010-03-23 13:34:14
Yeah, I only use FocusSpirit for a select few afflictions, and it's (relatively) easily turned off for those that don't want even that. It just sucks for an ability that eats up a quarter of your mana and isn't even guaranteed to cure what ails you.

I wonder when the "You have cured ." messages will be added now, to complete the circle for the easy-mode curing systems...
