I startled giggling at that end part there.
And much to Lady Estarra for the quick response.

You had great questions Sylandra. :-)
Now I have visions of a large souless bearhugging Elostian and calling him "George".
Also, the Nipple comment made me think of when D&D 4 came out, they introduced Dragonborn, and people were saying "Lizards don't have Boobs".

Edit: If there really is someone out there who hasn't seen that video, it's VVVVVV right there.

Your crazy is rather fantastic.

Ask Estarras always make me want to go to the gym so I can get some guns.
Once I get my nose job I will totally have to do one. So many questions to ask
Saran2011-02-07 08:40:14
I kinda winced when I heard new archetype because it would mean an eventual 48 guilds, more than double the average of the other games (even excluding mko).
But I also kinda want to see it... conflicted

Based on what was said in the video, especially about bards being a "subset", I would assume the missing archetype would have been the Rogue or Thief, as that is represented in many classic and modern games but not as much in Lusternia. Which can be a mixed bag--since actual theft is frowned upon by most of the player base, the game has taken steps to curb outright theft, and between the skillsets monks and bards got, I suspect implementing them might be problematic. Although if it wasn't solely based on theft and sneaking and involved things like trap-making and disarming, it might be interesting.
Shiri2011-02-07 12:47:17
We have trap-making and disarming too, actually, on top of sneaking.

Give ninjakari/nekotai tracking?
I'm wondering though, if you look we have two types of melee and aoe for each city and commune, maybe there's something there?

Since positive feedback was requested, let me share some. I really that this game has a well-enforced role-playing policy but that we do have the freedom of OOC clans. I like that there is close contact between and an interest in the community from the developers, Ask Estarra is just a great example of that, but also the threads where you ask for player feedback. I like the monthly things like weekranks and credits per day, even though I understand it is an IRE-wide thing, it means that sticking with the game for a good while even when not always having that much time to play eventually gets rewarded. I like that we can design a lot of things ourselves, like manses, or tradeskill things like clothes, and that there is quality control on what is public (submitting designs). I like the guides system and the newbie channel because that really helped me out at the start, and that they offer careful hints as solutions rather than giving you the exact answer to a problem; teaching a man how to fish rather than giving him a fish.

Since Calixa decided to share positive feedback, I feel like I need to squeeze some in too. (though I will share a little negative too) I like the collegium system, a lot. When I first started out we didn't have that, things were super confusing being new to MUDing. I love the Meliashmora questing area, and the event around it being released. It was good foreshadowing for the Christmas event, which while admittedly I didn't like a lot (mainly due to the entire stat reduced thing). I loved the most recent Meliashmora quest event. I think that that was one of the best things that's been released. I really like the ustream, and how active the Divine and stuff are. You feel real - you're not just the head of some company somewhere as with the normal game you buy off the shelf.
