Influencing to Titan/Demigod?

Back to Common Grounds.

Yeah. It's one (or a few) golden weeks out of the year, so nothing to really aim for. Personally, I generally sell my needles for 7500 gold or so.
Nyllach2010-04-15 17:50:02
I sell my needles at 7,500 gold to Glomdoring and 7,500-8,000 gold to non-Glomdoring, depending on who they are and how many they are looking to buy.

Sell them for 10,000! 10,000 I tell you, 10,000!

Really, I like the demand as I remember when prices were around 13k (then again I remember when credits were dirt cheap) but I enjoy it as it gives a good idea of a goal per say. I know alot of shops do sell for 10k and people buy them but I enjoy that then more money to the non shop selling people.

Well, 10,000 is reasonable. A bottle is worth 65,000 essence. It used to be 5 essence = 1 gold, so it'd be worth 13,000 gold. More than a year ago, the prices were on the 13k-16k range.

p.s. help bring back the 13k esteem era.

I think that would require players who sell esteem to collaborate and engage in price-fixing, which is doomed to fail unless the collaborators have enough capital (and manpower) to buy out most of the inevitable undercutters' esteem and re-sell it for the fixed price.

Without price-fixing, raw supply and demand will continue to govern the price. Ultimately, that's a good thing for buyers of esteem items, and a bad thing for influencers if supply increasingly outstrips demand (and from the sound of things, supply certainly isn't going to fall below demand anytime soon).

Well, I'm on summer break and influencing constantly. I could pull off another campaign to crash the esteem prices back to 1,000 levels... deal.gif

The price always goes up and down in the game but the normal price that most will not sell below is 6,000 while you still have some who will most sane people won't. The demand will go away in time I am sure just like it always does but we shall see.

I've sold about sixty or seventy needles in the past two weeks at 6650-7000 per. Had large stacks of them bought out at once by people who turned around to resell. But I also saw them sell in small numbers.

On the other hand, I went several days without selling any, or else I woudn't have managed to build such a pile. Even in the course of one week, demand changes quite a bit. Probably has to do with people's available play time.

I do keep about half of them hoarded back. I wonder how many it takes to wipe a shrine and its full aura...

You'd be surprised how quickly that can change. One of the major factors that drove the cheap esteem market back when prices were in the 3000-5000 range for a fully imbued object was that it was either influence or bashing. Shortly after aetherspace got changed, there was a dramatic drop in esteem available on the market, and that put prices up for a quite a long while. Then when ascension rolled around, it inflated it back up again, even as more people started to influence once more.

The important thing to realize is the potential of buyers to save by getting esteem instead of getting gold. Back when esteem was so cheap, I would buy gobs and gobs of it just to offer to my patron because the rate of gold given per corpse for esteem was way, way better than the rate of essence for offering corpses, or time spent accumulating said corpses. The closer esteem comes to surpassing this barrier, the more likely you are to see a slump in demand with it.

However, there will always be those interested in getting esteem for the sake of storage, and communes/cities for shrine warring, etc. You can't keep thousands of corpses on hand, after all.

Glomdoring and Magnagora obviously need to get another shrine war going. Funded us influencers pretty nicely.

Which, in Magnagora's case, is surely the pinnacle of irony. (...I'll get my coat. losewings.gif)

Thank you all for the informative opinions!

You should pay a Gaudi to drop a couple imbued items on a Glom shrine. Jump start the market yourself and get your enemies razed, all at once!
