RULES

1. Scum still retain their original role's powers, but must choose one and only one ability to use at night.

2. You may NOT communicate with other players outside of this thread unless it is explicitly stated in your role. And it isn't, unless you're part of the mafia team.

3. Vitally challenged players and spectators should refrain from having or participating in discussions that are relevant or significant to the game. Death cries are allowed, but keep it short.

4. You may NOT edit your posts under any circumstances. Double-post if you have to.

SETUP

ALL ROLES ARE PUBLIC. They can be found in the signup thread or below.

IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A ROLE PM, you are town. You should know your role. You picked (or was assigned) it.

SCUM ARE MADE UP OF A TWO-PERSON MAFIA TEAM AND A SOLO SERIAL ARSONIST. Scum will be randomly decided by random.org. In other words, any role could be scum. You will find out if you are scum from a PM at the start of the game, which will assign you one of the following and give you the relevant information, if any:

QUOTE
Kanako Yasaka
"We need to do something about this."
~The Avatar of Mountains and Lakes~ Divine Pillar "Meteoric Onbashira"

One of the two goddesses of the Moriya Shrine, Kanako rules over the wind and rain, with the ability to create sky. You may speak with your fellow goddess Suwako at night.

Once in the game, you may empower the nightly mafia kill with your spellcard, allowing it to bypass active protection and any attempts at redirection or swapping to pierce through to your target without fail. Passive resistances still apply.

QUOTE

"Sanae looks so down nowadays."
~The Highest of Native Gods~ Curse God "Red Mouth Mishaguji-sama"

One of the two goddesses of the Moriya Shrine, Suwako is one of the oldest gods despite her youthful appearance, possessing the ability to create earth and summon curse gods. You may speak with your fellow goddess Kanako at night.

~Tiny Pandemonium~ Great Oni "Missing Purple Power"

Currently the only oni living aboveground in Gensokyo, Suika has enough physical strength to throw large boulders singlehandedly despite her small size. She loves to drink and party.

Due to your strength and toughness, you take an extra two people to lynch and have a 50% immunity to nightkills. It's Mountain of Faith all over again!

Um. Hi.
Kiradawea2010-04-03 11:18:57
Hallo there Satori. Ready to party?
Unknown2010-04-03 12:04:44
I have no idea about Satori's personality, sorry.

YAH LET'S GO PARTY, SUIKA. WE'LL HEAD TO REIMU'S, AYE?
Shiri2010-04-03 12:34:46
Hrm. For a first vote, I'm kind of torn as to which power is most dangerous if the scum gets hold of it. I'm tempted to go with Komachi/Vendetta but she can only use her thingy on alternating nights.

For now I'm gonna take a stab at vote Tekora (Yuyuko). Unlike the last smalltown we had, the vig being scum here is doubly lethal because it looks like the scum can have one person use Yuyuko's power and the other person use their own power. Everyone else seems roughly equally annoying, although I'm the least concerned if Siam, Xavius or Arix got assigned scum.

Open to considering Gleip too. All pending actual scum tells.
Shiri2010-04-03 12:36:00
Also Satori is a bizarre introvert that hides underground and constantly responds to what they're thinking before they say it. So everyone hates her.
Gleip2010-04-03 13:11:47
Boom. Time to torch some more gods.

Also, wouldn't Kira as a serial killer be very bad? She'd have a quite high resistance to being killed by scum and vig, heck, they probably wouldn't target her at all since that can fail. Anyway.

Vote: Siam because he held up the game by not getting around to picking his character. If he's inactive, good riddance early on, and it's not like anyone else has presented themselves as odd yet.
Shiri2010-04-03 13:29:29
Kira as SK would be really bad, you're right, I'm just thinking more in terms of the mafia scum atm since there's two of them, and it's actually in the SK's interest to take out Kira quickly anyway to avoid being screwed over.
Unknown2010-04-03 13:35:52
Whoops, we're starting already? I guess I can just take an extra long snooze tonight.

Is it because Arix can't freeze himself? I had to sit and think about why Ileein wasn't included here, but Arix was.

Kira as the SK could be bad, since the extra weight needed to lynch means that holding out on her keystone smashing power will make it more and more difficult to lynch before she activates them, and she doesn't need to completely wipe town to still win with extra lynch votes required. She loses all those resistances and such if she does the keystone smash, though - town will just have to know the right time to pressure her, assuming she keeps holding onto it. We'll worry about her later.

Does the mafia have standard night kills too? I only saw special kills described. Or do the two of them decide what the one kill of the night will be?
Siam2010-04-03 13:52:03
Hi! Catching up, reading things, and WEEPING BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A CHIBI. losewings.gif Will post after catching up. P.S. Please pray the 2 s delay/lag spike in-game poofs....please...
Shiri2010-04-03 13:52:08
Actually, I don't know why I put Arix on there but not Ileein, hrm. I guess I just dislike jailkeepers on my team sometimes so having the certain doctor on the scum seemed more threatening. Who the LEAST scary are isn't that relevant though, it's who the most scary are that matters.

"Once in the game, you may empower the nightly mafia kill with your spellcard, allowing it to bypass active protection and any attempts at redirection or swapping to pierce through to your target without fail. Passive resistances still apply."

This text from Kanako's box indicates to me that they do have a normal nightly mafia kill, yes. It says they can do "one move per night." I guess you could argue that's ambiguous as to whether it means the scum as a whole can only choose a kill or a non-scum power between them, but that seems wrong to me, so I'm gonna go ahead and assume it means one can kill and the other use a power (or both use night powers, if they really felt like it.)

Relatedly, I guess that means Tenshi can't keystone people and use her night power? I wonder if that's going to just cause them to do Silferras' gimmick from last game until Kira dies or if they'll be more proactive.
Shiri2010-04-03 13:52:59
Huh, that's weird, you had a chibi earlier but it's vanished from the signup post now.
Unknown2010-04-03 13:59:34
Rule 1, Shiri.

Kanako's mentioned special skill is one use, and Suwako's only activates on death. If they both get independent vanilla night kills, then either of them as Yuyuko doesn't make them any more dangerous, does it? What it does mean is that any night kills are going to made with the direct intent of not being in town's favour, but then they can't really kill any faster than they otherwise would.
Gleip2010-04-03 14:01:54
Well, they'd be screwed without a regular mafia kill, so I'd assume yes.
Unknown2010-04-03 14:03:42
And I'm confused about Siam. I can still see his.

Olé.

Kanako's thing says "the" nightly mafia kill. Not "your." So presumably they only have one between them, not two, meaning Yuyuko could pick up the slack on the second one. That seems like something we could get confirmation on though.
