Basicly, I knew someone would try to start something with me regardless of who I froze, so I tried to have a semi-logicial reason for why a person should be frozen, and picked based on that

The smart choice would have been to freeze someone without a night power.
Arix2010-04-13 18:25:28
Also, if someone were a mafia, and they chose not to use their night power, could the godfather still use them to kill someone?
Shulamit2010-04-13 18:42:48
Sorry, when I've been on, I haven't had the time to post.
I tried to roleblock Tekora, I think, since I saw, kill people as bad. Which might not have been smart, but at the time of sending the message, roleblock killy people seemed good.

so assuming you're not a scum who's just covering Tekora by saying you blocked him so he could kill sylphas and not get caught, that rules him out for now

You really ought to read the thread before posting.

I did read the thread
Unknown2010-04-13 23:13:08
At least he's in character. Right?
Tekora2010-04-14 00:00:34
Ok, so according to what we've learned, I was roleblocked AND redirected onto myself last night. What a wonderful waste of two night actions, because I didn't make any moves last night.
That said, I'm looking at Arix and Shulamit right now. Arix claims to have frozen Xavius, which puts him under scrutiny, because he knew like the rest of us that Xavius was going to research Kiradawea's dousing tonight. As for Shulamit, I had a feeling that she was going to claim blocking me, because it's what I would have done in her place and if I were scum.
See, Shiri was holding off on going after me until he determined whether his attempt to get me to suicide was interrupted by someone else. If Shulamit had claimed to block anyone but me, I would have been vindicated. Instead, it now seems to the outside observer that if I did try to use my kill last night, that Shulamit stopped me. This result would/will undoubtedly result in Shiri going after me again with as much zeal as yesterday. Thus, Shulamit manages to keep suspicion off herself, allowing her to stay quiet like she has been while Shiri does her dirty work for her.
Add to this the fact that Arix's reason for freezing Xavius was very very weak, basically amounting to 'LOL OOPS'. Arix is not so much of a novice player to pull that much of a blunder. So what do I think might have happened last night? I think Shulamit blocked Xavius and Arix froze someone else. Did anyone else try to use their night power and fail last night?

Someone's grasping at straws
Arix2010-04-14 00:20:41
Also, my reason was not a 'LOL OOPS'. You're just trying to make it seem so, and are only proving my assumption that some moron would give me trouble no matter who I froze
Tekora2010-04-14 00:22:20
Grasping at straws? It makes fine sense and is a perfectly reasonable alternate scenario for what might have happened last night, besides the obvious 'Shulamit blocks Tekora, Arix blocks Xavius' scenario. Bringing more information and scenarios to the table and keeping a wide view and an open mind is vital to town success in any game.

Any chance some of you other players could participate? If it's just me and Tekora, it's going to get boring fast.

It's been you and Tekora for all of 40 minutes. Pansy.
Anyways, wasn't going after shatter yet, since we abandoned Shiri's blow-it-all-up strategy. What throws me there is that Arix didn't express any sort of distrust of me during the day, but froze someone who actually had a night action. Still, Arix was not the scum kill.
Roleblocking Tekora is not bad mojo, when we expect Tekora to not be killing. Unfortunate that two people did it. Also a little unfortunate that we don't actually know now if Tekora tried to kill. We do know that he wasn't the scum kill, though. That's good enough for now in my book.
As far as unconfirmable claims, I don't like that the dead person was seen around Shiri, but nobody else, especially since tracking Shiri doesn't provide much useful information. However, nobody counter-claimed that, and the claim was made before all the information was in. Good enough for now.
Saran says no night action because he's hoarding his one-use shinies. Plausible enough when we're not going all nuke-it-from-orbit.
We didn't expect anything from Kira or Siam.
Vendetta claimed no night action, which works when you have an every-other-night power and it's night 1.
Reflecting a person onto himself isn't something I'd allow as mod with this sort of setup, but that's guessing the mod and not usually good form. We don't have any reason not to believe him.
What I especially don't like is Bali's claim to have taken actions off of Siam onto himself. I would expect Siam to be potentially roleblocked as one of the no night action people. This only helps scum, but gives you a plausible claim if someone did roleblock Siam. Siam wouldn't know the difference, and you could say that the night kill couldn't be yours because you got roleblocked.
So...Vote: Bali
Shulamit2010-04-14 04:18:54
No, I'm not claiming to block Tekora just to stay quiet. I'm staying quiet cause I'm actually that slow (not sarcasm!)
I am truly sorry I haven't been posting more, but work has picked up a lot. I'd still like to play.
I am not mafia. I roleblocked Tekora like I said, cause he had killy powers, and well, killy powers seem...damgerous.
Next mafia game it's back to lurking and reading much much more on.

Freudian slip?
Honestly though, that whole idea seems pretty far-fetched. If both our roleblockers (not counting Alice-of-all-trades) were a team, I'm sure they could do better than blocking Xavius. Xavius all but spelled it out that he'd be aiming for Alice' investigation doll, so why wouldn't they want to eliminate him instead?
I find Xavius' notion of a Bali/Siam scumteam more likely, because a tracker would be more dangerous to a scum without a nightaction.
So Bali... mind sharing why you spun around Siam of all people?

I SPIN'd Siam.
Why would you use your power on me? Wouldn't it have been better if you protected Xavius tp ensure he lives to research a power? And I believe doing so would have prevented Arix from freezing him. (Am I correct in this assumption? I hope I am)
REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION:
This website said that Bodyguards kill anyone who targets who they protect. Bali's role is mentioned as'bodyguard' does the role from the site apply or not? I'm guessing it doesn't, but I gotta ask.
