Wait, he did? I don't remember reading that!

I redirected Tekora back at himself. He didn't die. This can mean:
1. Tekora is innocent and telling the truth about not targetting anyone
2. Ileein interfered
3. Vendetta interfered
4. Bali interfered
5. Arix interfered
6. Shulamit interfered

This was part of the second post after the night summary, and Shiri was the first one to speak up about what he did. For that reason, I tend to believe he's being honest about his night action. Had he done something else, he wouldn't have gone down that direction of investigation.
Also, I'm missing something. What makes Xavius 'the cop'? I suppose he could attempt to copy a specific scum power from a target, and see if the guess gets proven... That sounds interesting, though rather low percentage for now.

Xavius can copy one of my powers to investigate people. Except that Arix prevented him from doing so... which seems curious as Xavius did what we would expect him to do and Arix steps in.
Dugan2010-04-24 10:55:35
Yes and all Arix can say is that he had a reason which seemed good at the time, but not much else.
Arix2010-04-24 11:17:40
I also told everyone the reason, on at least two occasions. If you choose to ignore it or are too lazy to look for it, that's not my concern, but I'm not repeating it again

myeah, blocking the power that could prove one of the more advantageous to the town...
also if there was a godfather situation in this game the godfathers night action would normally be to do the kill wouldn't it?

WARNING: LARGE POST
I'm willing to write of Tekora's actions as mafiarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggge, for now.
Arix and Dugan - sup?
1. Cannot be confirmed. Perhaps we should wait until tomorrow to see if he watches another dead person? Or are we just going to write that off too?
2. Why hang around Shiri, a redirector? Why not a doctor or cop or siam, someone who is worth watching? Why some obscure redirector role? Dugan?
Ok so, try to understand the Arixlogic here. The scumteam is composed of a oneshot-lancingnightvig + a bomb + their original powers. Arix states that the Xavius role is not immediately valuable to the town, but in truth, it is the most valuable in terms of information generation. Arix never claimed he was trying to protect the cop and save him from the initial N1 barrage, no, that would have been reasonable. But that is not what he is claiming.
1. First off, he uses "a godfather"... all the roles are known. There is no godfather, only the team of two. They decide on an nightkill and send it into the mod or do their regular night action (I will get around to what that implies and how we can use that to our advantage soon)
2. "Would willingly sacrifice for a night in order to do a kill instead" - meaning what role-power would the scum abstain from using in order to shoot their bazookas during the night to kill some townies. What a strange thought orientation, but ok, whatever. Arix says he is freezing not in defense of the town, but using his power in a sort of offensive maneuver in order to catch scum. And it confirms Xavius to a degree...hrm...interesting...
3. Assuming I got all that right, it still doesn't make sense. Why? IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THE ORIGINAL SCUM ROLE IS, THEY ARE GOING TO USE THEIR NIGHTKILL. HOW DOES THE ORIGINAL ROLE PLAY ANY DETERMINATION HERE? THE LONGER THIS GAME DRAGS ON WITHOUT THEM KILLING PEOPLE THE LESS CHANCE THEY HAVE TO WIN. Why would Xavius abstain from using his power N1? Why? If the scum dont use their nightkill, and if Tekora doesn't nightkill, there should be no deaths, assuming the SK is saving his keystones for one nuclear explosion, something I would do. Or I would use them when necessary to confuse the town. Anyway, the SK is a wildcard, and should be treated as such - its not like he/she can communicate with the scumteam. We'd be in doodoo if that were the case.

QUOTE (Arix)
I looked over the list of people, saw all the shiny powers, and tried to think which ones a godfather would willingly sacrifice for a night in order to do a kill instead. Xavius struck me as one of those people, as his power, though useful, is not one that is immediately so
QUOTE (Arix)
I did have a reason, people are either too lazy to look it up, or are ignoring it. When I chose who to freeze, I looked for people who either didn't have a night power, or had a power that a godfather could conceivably have them abstain from using in favour of a nightkill. Xavius was one of those people, and I chose him
QUOTE (DA SCUM ROLES)
Once in the game, you may empower the nightly mafia kill with your spellcard, allowing it to bypass active protection and any attempts at redirection or swapping to pierce through to your target without fail. Passive resistances still apply.
Upon your demise, your spellcard will activate, cursing and killing the person who caused your death. If you are lynched, this will affect the person who casts the deciding vote.

I'm not sure that I buy the "if Arix was scum, Xavius is too" bit. I was quite annoyed to get roleblocked.
Unknown2010-04-24 18:54:23
You dont have to buy it, its free. And you can say you were annoyed, but does it mean anything tangible? No.
Xavius2010-04-24 18:56:51
It's about as tangible as "I spun the person who should've been roleblocked as a scum check and will posthumously justify it by saying that it's the most powerful ability out there, even though it's situational at best."
Unknown2010-04-24 18:57:43
This is the part where I roll my eyes.
Arix2010-04-24 21:36:21
In this case, you can replace godfather with 'guy who decides who uses the nightkill'. since the role list doesn't say they both have one, I just assume one of them decides who gets to use their one nightkill action. And I didn't say I was trying to protect Xavius, because I was roleblocking him as a possible scum.

Ok going to only go off the part directed at me. You grasping at straws much or what there man. I'll start with point 2. You would really need to ask Romertien that one, that was his night action. I took over the character on day 2. I can't even guess as to why he watched whom he did. I can only speculate. As to number 1, thats what I got too from the mod. And a dead person wasn't watched. If the dead person was watched, I'd have known who killed him. Shiri was the target by Romertein.

Pretty much, thats what I remember about it. I made that post you were referencing about 10 minutes before I had to go to work for the day. Didn't have time at that moment to go back and search. But having the time now, I did go back and find it.

You remembered the important bits. The reason was straight dumb. He thought that I shouldn't be using my power yet. Lol.

That's the "bomb" people have been talking about - Suwako, one of the scum powers. Not target, but whoever is responsible for elimination. So either the final vote, or a kill power.
