Ah, OK, thanks.

@Lendren: the wiki could be updated to make this clear.

It just shows the help file for HELP LORECRAFT, which is what should be updated to make this clear IMO.

Except now you to type out PERMANENT in addition as well, and if you can take the time to spell it right, you won't need confirmation.

Your lack of faith on laziness disturbs me.

Have you never had an experience where you meant to type one thing and something else came out?

Ever?

I guess it's time to abandon the Wildecraft cartel. I wonder who if anyone will be its trademaster now. I wonder how many city/commune cartels will be hurting for leadership.
Shiri2010-04-16 13:13:20
Oh, wait, you lose cartels if you bail on trades temporarily? I was thinking I could change back and forth in case people wanted bookbinding designs submitted, on a monthly basis.

You do. I joined Crowquill temporarily, and now it's gone (without me reading any of the newsposts).
Shiri2010-04-16 13:41:34
Well, nevermind then, unless they fix that.

Another great change.

Now all we need is some skillchoices for monks and bards. Preferably one we can swap harmony out for. I have some ideas... ninja.gif

EDIT: In all seriousness though, I may actually have to use this one on my tradeskills, hrm.

Stealth for Seren/Celest and Harmony for Mag/Glom. Just have some cutesy event where the kephera and illithoid help you to steal each other's teachings, and make minor cosmetic changes between the two sides as necessary.

Only city/commune cartels. When you switch back, you'll be in the cartel, just not its trademaster. The problem is just, who will be the trademaster? Most of the people who are active/established enough to do the job will also be the ones switching back and forth in less time than the elections take. Now the only qualification for being a city/cartel trademaster is not being able to afford to change skills around, which will further marginalize those cartels.

Still, while I really hope they'll fix this, it's a pretty small issue compared to how big and great skillflex is.
Diamondais2010-04-16 14:12:24
I can go back to tailoring and maintain both my forging and tailoring database. Eeee!
Shiri2010-04-16 14:21:42
Yeah, it's a pretty great change. And I guess people don't ask for new designs THAT often so it's not like anyone will be horribly put out if I decide I want jewellery or something too. Should be fine.

I'm a little disappointed that I have to remember Enchantment and Spellcraft separately, which means 2 IRL days if I want to get my trans Spellcraft back after temporarily forgetting it. sad.gif If I'd known it'd do that, I might have just said "forget it" to the skillflex thing. sleep.gif

And that's probably been explained somewhere and I just missed it.

Check the first page, I think; somewhere around there, I made a post asking that Tradeskills and non-Tradeskills activate separately (so you could activate 1 Tradeskill and 1 non-Tradeskill per month).

It'd also be nice if costs / timing for the tradeskill ones were tweaked downwards a bit after that, but not as important as just letting them be done separately in the first place.

Really? That's kinda icky. That means three days (and 125 lessons) to go from Brewmeister to Tinkering.

Change, please!

As opposed to the previous, what... more then 1000 lessons to do so?

As opposed to the one day and 50 lessons for most everything else.

Yeah, I found that out today. I forgot spellcraft and enchantment temporarily to pick up tailoring. Immediately after, Estwald asks me to enchant some cubes, so I tried remembering spellcraft - wouldn't let me. So I remembered Enchantment, but then I couldn't pick Spellcraft back up. sad.gif Made me a sad skunky.

Still, I do have to agree it's better than forgetting completely and relearning, but still. No love for us specialized tradeskill users. ><

And Xenthos, that sounds fantastic, but it still doesn't solve my taking 2 days to remember my trans Spellcraft. :<

Nobody would ever take Harmony. Ever.

It wouldn't even be a function of game balance. Until Harmony makes you able to reenact fight scenes from Kung Fu Hustle, Stealth wins in terms of sheer thematic awesome.

Make it so.

A good solution towards Ongaku's problem would be to allow you to activate 50 lesson's worth total (in activation fees) instead of one skill per RL day.

This way, you can forget spellcraft/enchantment, and learn tailoring, forget tailoring, then activate both spellcraft/enchantment and you're good to go.
