I'm pretty sure people are rewoven back into the tapestry (and reborn). Since the running theory is there's no 'creation' and no 'destruction' then mortal souls have to come from somewhere. Could go with the Adam Kadmon theory and believe there's a place with every merian soul waiting to be born (though eventually it would have to run out!) or go with an adaptation (there's x souls and they're all just being rewoven).

I'd really love to see some interesting ideas play out, personally (and there's no reason Winnae shouldn't believe there's xyz afterlife or what have you! Though I think the general notion behind Nihilists and the like is eternal life by way of undeath, but... )

I like to think that we are all stuck in this cycle, in a single moment of cosmic time, on the cusp of something extraordinary-- the cycle will only be broken once we and the Tapestry are able to withstand and weather the extraordinary to come.
