And you've never found an Ascendant artifact. If you have, it'll reset within an hour or so anyways. I imagine you mean Vernal - which yes, you probably are far more likely to find Vernal Artifacts than Elder. Things happen over countless aeons of time!

This has always been a question in the back of my mind. What exactly is the distinction between an Ascendant and a God in terms of power? I know an Ascendant isn't really a God, but on a scale from 1 to 10 where do they stand in terms of "Divinity"?

This is all my opinion, but:

1: Demigod
3: Ascendant
5: Fledgeling Vernal (Marilynth, perhaps the Vernal Child)
6: Ascendant God (Ayridion, prone to growth in power)
7: Full Vernal
8: Elder/Soulless
9: Primal/older Soulless
10: Really Bad Soulless

Ascendants remain nothing but the shard of a Divine, and will by and large always be weaker as a result, unless that shard/spark/flame was somehow fanned into a full, legitimate Divinity.

So for the sake of discussion we can say that 5 is a "threshold". If you broke that limiter, you could fan your spark exponentially and rival the power of a Full Vernal(given that you're just naturally talented like Kiakoda or Lacostian) or possibly an Elder?

Sounds about right.

5 is where you're capable of reaching into the Immanidivinus, that place beyond the Domoth Realms where all the Divine get their power from. Ever since Ayridion de-ascended, though, he ripped open the Great Abyss, so there's no known means by which a Mortal can cross that and hit that threshold. Ascendants just have to make due with the Domoth powers.

What exactly is the Immanidivinus? Is it sort of like the Cosmic planes and how they serve as cradles for half formed, but instead for full Divine? Reminds me of how a bird leaves its nest lives on its own. Although I highly doubt IRE has any plans to implement a step up from Ascendant, I wonder if there is a canon alternative we aren't aware of.

Lacostian was an Elder god, not a Vernal.

The Immandivinus is the supposed 'sorce of power' for gods. I imagine it's what's needed to spark a soul and fan a spark into divinity.

And there is no reason why Vernal Gods couldn't become stronger than Elder Gods. The Nine were pretty Bad-ass and probably outdid quite some Elders in terms of sneakyness or power.

Also, as an aside. Elo got 'rescued' by Kalikai, if it wasn't for her, he would never have had to splinter and get messed up in Zenos' essence. Whether or not Elostian's mental struggle with Zenos was something he could have escaped from is something that is up for debate, and something that'll most likely never be known.

Power is certainly a subjective thing, especially when it comes to Divine.

It isn't explicitly said what it is, but I do imagine it as a plane. Whether or not it has a physical manifestation though, I can't say. I know the Domoth does and I think it's regarded as plane of its own as well (mechanically, it is - you hear people speaking from the Domotheos/Realm of the Domoth/etc). Demigods/Ascendants can DOMOTH ASCEND from the Havens and walk around the place and carry out Domoth challenges there - it's neat.

Ah, I see. I'm very curious to know what the splintered race of Elostian would be like. Perhaps a race of hermetic sorcerers with potent magic ability? Or maybe an effect similar to that of the Kephera, with both genders having radically different characteristics or abilities that work in synergy with one another.

That does sound spiffy. I need to get on bashing again. I'm really curious to know what all the new demi/Ascendant changes will be like.

Edit: Typo.

If Elostian splinters, we get Grooks in Lusternia.

Aren't the Mugwumps basically the same as Grooks? Really smart amphibious race?
