Mugwumps are the product of Angelina Jolie's lips and Megan Fox's toethumbs combining into one being.

If Elostian splinters, we get Grooks in Lusternia.
I imagine they'd be something like the Sheikah race from Legend of Zelda.

We don't deserve their respect. They run the world and have the power to shrub each and every one of us. Be grateful they don't meddle more into the affairs of mortals. Without the oversight of the Powers of the Iron Realms, they would exert their tyrannical and capricious will over us and make this place a generally crappy place to live.
I took the comments as referring to the IC personas and history of Elder Gods, not the OOC personas as people who run the game. In the latter role they absolutely deserve our respect. In the former, we may sometimes have to treat them as playground bullies with their daddy's guns -- no smarter (evidently!) than we are, no better at reasoning, and of only dubious additional insight and perception, but able and willing to beat us up if we say so out loud.

I was randomly looking over the histories and found these passages:
Not only did it hit me that Vrandrac was probably intended to be the previously-tweeted Protozoa Elder, but I was further blindsided by Estarra's masterpiece...
Keph -> Kephera, Thousand Eyes, emphasis on the many drones beneath one Queen
Dracnoris -> Dracnari, the most Star-like of the Primal races. Point of synthesis.
Vrandrac -> Protozoa. Single masses.

Oh, I wasn’t the only Primal God left from the ancient times. There was Keph, She of the Many Eyes, and Vrandrac the One, a huge amorphous mass.

It is funny how the Fates came in three, just as Yudhe’s offspring came in three: Magnora, Dynara and the Unnamed Son. It is as if that number is the template of creation: two opposites and a point of synthesis. Ah, but my mind is wandering again, and there is the stirring that I feel, and I should, perhaps, give warning to my fellow Elder Gods.

Losing a 10p defense twice within 10 minutes, in the middle of a faethorn skirmish, because I was disconnected for about a second two times, is a little VERY frustrating.

Yes it was a terrible code change. I was going to write a post on it, but when I read over it, it was really mean and I don't want to upset Eventru (love you).
But please remove this little code you put in... it's really annoying and NO ONE WANTS IT. If people are afraid of dying/losing xp while being disconnected, that's the point of setting a low timeout number.

I have this too. What's especially infuriating is that I d/c for about five minutes, but somehow Lusternia doesn't bother disconnecting me and wasting all my defs until AFTER I've finished dying to a guard and wasting all my xp.

Supposedly, nothing in the code relating to defenses and disconnections has changed, so nothing to change back.

Despite losing my own defs several times due to this, just one or two times I haven't eaten a frustrating death due to the game realizing I wasn't there have more than made up for it, in terms of time and effort, let alone the frustration of seeing cave fisher spam just... stop moving.
I don't know exactly what the change did, but if its what kept me from dying whilst DC'd, its worth the occasional def loss, if that's even what is causing it.

Yeah, and it really, really, really irritates me. Cause now, I have to either use the godawful game editor via Mushclient for writing, or I have to just wait to do all my posting, helpfile/project updating, letter writing, book writing until I've either just logged in or I'm about to log out. Which is hella annoying.
I wanna be able to hop back and forth between Muschclient and Nexus like I used to again! Make it so!

I would probably be less disgruntled with it if it were saving me from frustrating "deaths." Instead it's ADDING to those.

Really, it is a whole lot easier if you just write everything in Notepad. CTRL-A and CTRL-C, you're set. Open the Mushclient editor, CTRL-V, *SAVE. This has the added advantage of taking you out of the game for only seconds. Notepad is exactly like the Nexus editor.

When I do it this way, my formatting, spacing and so on never carries over right. I have to go back and tweak and fix things and it's annoying.
eta: Plus the hopping back and forth never took any time. I'd be logged into Mushclient. I'd open the Nexus, and log into it, instantaneously Mushclient would log me out. I'd go into the Nexus editor and copy over something I'd written or write some addition real quick and save it. It would keep my formatting! Then, I'd reconnect with Mushclient and log back in and I'd be instantaneously logged out of Nexus. Until recently, I could do this several times and never lose a single def. Now? I do it once and random defs (usually the powered ones, strangely enough) are gone. It's annoying and a BAD CHANGE, imo.

Notepad shouldnt' have that trouble-- there's no formatting. When I try to do things in Word that will happen, but never in Notepad. That's all Nexus does when you write-- it opens up a Notepad.
The only advantage I have ever seen with the Nexus Notepad is that it lets you put * in your writing. MUSH can't do that since that's the command marker. But that's it.
