We already have enough crystal gardens.

Fair point. Why not annex Serenwilde? They've enough trees. suspicious.gif I keep trying to get Celest to do that, but instead we end up with the Athenaeum, Gardens of Remembrance...

Yes, I know Llesvelt is just being a good Hallifaxian by being difficult, but I really think that the Hanging Gardens would be a good idea. Remember, not only were the gardens famed for their beauty, but the Hanging Gardens were a testament to architectural ability, excellent design, engineering, pumping techniques... just consider all the complex math they needed to calculate before they built it. By far, it is my favourite World Wonder.

So while Continuum is awesome in all ways, am I the only one who keeps gritting his teeth and saying "tetrahedrA... octahedrA... icosahedrA..." Probably, which is why I haven't typoed it. "tetrahedrons" is one of those "it was done wrong so long that became right" things that's now in the dictionaries, so I shouldn't quibble. Then again, if I'm playing a Hallifaxian maybe I should quibble more.

You could try getting it changed, maybe! See: White Foal Fawn. Then again the only thing that needed to be changed was the name of the actual denizen.

Heh, yeah, this bothered me at first, too. Now I'm at the point where I just kind of shrug it off.

I'm just happy not to be the only one who thinks it, then.

Just remember, there are people out there who have married fences. People, in the plural. Not being alone doesn't mean you're not weird.

To be honest I have thousands of gripes similar to that when it comes to Lusternia. But I realized letting them bother me was preventing me from enjoying the game. So I just learned to accept the creative vision of the designers and revel in it.

I wasn't aiming for unweird.

Really, things like that need to be individually coded in - it's not something we can fix easily. Can certainly bug it and we can certainly see how feasible it is to fix it, but I'd be lying if I said it'd be anywhere near 'the list', nonetheless at the top of it. *cough* It'd be in the jar of ink at least.

Oi, my shield got approved in record time, but the last 3 lines of its description are missing??? How could they have been left out... sad.gif
Llesvelt2010-08-13 10:46:20
I just bought an Acer Aspire 5942 solely to play Lusternia.

Oh, there was that, studying thing, too. But who cares?

Did you use a semicolon in the description when you wrote it? Or when the Trademaster submitted it? My client uses semicolon as the command stacking thingie, so whenever I use one, it makes a new line out of it unless I remember to turn off the command stacking thing. I have no idea if that's what did it, I'm just guessing, of course. dunno.gif Maybe the Trademaster didn't copy it all over when they went to submit it?

You might be able to TYPO it to get those last lines added in though.

I bypass this problem by using Mudbot's editor. I don't even have a mapper or any kind of system through it, but I connect to Lusternia through Mudbot, type `edit when in the game's standard editor, paste, send to in-game editor, done.

Alternatively, you can tell MUSHClient (at least - no clue about others) to stop using semicolon to stack commands via Game -> Configure -> Commands and unclicking "Command Stacking Using:" or changing the semicolon to something else.

Durr, Noola mentioned command stacking. But at least I added the "how to get there" part I guess? sleep.gif

Before being up here, I thought about buying an external numpad for my laptop just for aetherspace, so I didn't have to rely on aliases (yes, aliases) to fly around! They can be quite cheap.
Thendis2010-08-13 16:13:34
My college requires a computer class, which is the only reason I am taking it. Looked through the book I had to buy for the class (which teaches how to send an email) and read a section about how laptops do not have number pads built in. New enough to have a section on skype (feels like product placement >_>).
My laptop has every key on a normal keyboard, plus some special buttons for laptop stuff ;_;

Part of me wants this to break the teacher's brain.
The rest of me knows that would mean I was in for a long semester.

Also, I'm tired of running low on willpower.
My character is an ennui, apparently sad.gif

speaking from experience mudbot's editor is a big no no for any form of editing. It replaces all ' and other special coding characters with ?.

Nexus is your friend for editing, or just remember to turn off command stacking in mush.

I've been using my Belkin Nostromo n52 (not the tournament edition). It's programmable and has four modes you can cycle between or shift into. Provides a lot more utility than a simply numpad.

I have my old n50 if anyone wants it, come to think of it. Few less buttons is the real difference. Normally runs ~$40, you pay shipping you can have it. Don't wanna bother with ebay or anything.
